URC to open 60th Season at Bridgeport this Saturday.

URC TO OPEN 60TH SEASON AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY SATURDAY NIGHT

The 60th season for the United Racing Company Sprint Series sponsored by Bar's Leaks will kickoff at South Jersey's Bridgeport Speedway on Saturday night. The Sprint Wing Fest 2007 at Bridgeport Speedway will showcase the CnB Mushroom 25 lap URC Sprint feature paying $2,500 to win. This URC show will mark their first race of 2007 but their 1,370th event presented in the fifty-nine year history of URC. Through the years, URC visited 137 different race tracks that delivered 226 different feature winners. The Bridgeport Speedway has always played a key role in the success of URC and ranks second in presenting the most URC events. Bridgeport Speedway has played host to URC on 132 occasions, second only to the Delaware International Speedway that has presented 143 URC shows. URC will present a series of qualifying heat races, a "B" main and the 25 lap feature event.

Joining the URC Sprints on this big night of racing at Bridgeport Speedway will be the Big Block Modifieds, the 358 Small Blocks, the Sunoco Sportsman and the Bartleson Masonry/Post Plumbing Rookie Sportsman.

Pit gates will open at 12 Noon with grandstand gates opening at 4 PM. Warm-ups will take the green flag at 5 PM with qualifying action getting underway at 6 PM. Grandstand admission is $20 for adults, with kids 12 and under FREE. The Pit admission is $25 with a license and $35 without a license.

The Bar's Leaks URC Sprint Series is boasting one of their most competitive roster of drivers ever. Trevor Lewis, Michael Carber, Greg Coverdale, Brian Seidel, Dave Ely, Brook Weibley, Kramer Williamson, Scott Pursell, Chris Coyle, Ed Aikin and defending rookie standout Davey Sammons, are just a few drivers to be in action Saturday night. Of course, they'll all be chasing Curt Michael and the Palladino #99. Michael, of Ocean View, DE is looking for his fourth consecutive URC Championship in 2007. In 2006, Michael scored six career URC wins and is labeled as the man to beat 2007.

Following the URC opener, the popular traveling sprint series will head to the Delaware International Speedway on Saturday night, April 21. The URC sprints only stop in the state of Delaware will be at the Delaware International Speedway with eight visits planned starting on April 21 followed by May 12, June 2, June 30, August 4, August 25, September 22 and November 3.
