VERNON , NY- Like many tracks throughout the Northeast, Utica-Rome Speedway has been forced to push back its opening events of the 2007 season as a result of the cold and wet spring conditions.
The Romano’s Driving School that was originally scheduled for Friday April 13 has been postponed until Friday April 20. Anyone still interested in attending should call Mike Romano at (518) 762-1333.
The Sunday April 15 Open House and Practice session is rescheduled for Wednesday April 18. Gates will open at 5 p.m. with practice beginning at 6 p.m., continuing until approximately 9 p.m. Pit admission is just $10 with grandstands open to the public at no charge.
Competition at the “Action Track of the East” will start on April 22 when Mirabito “The Energy Leader” presents the 46th Season Opener featuring the 358-Modifieds in a 46 lap $2,500 to win contest. Sportsman, Pro Stocks, Pure Stocks, and IMCA Modifieds will also be in action, making it an action packed evening of excitement. Points will begin in all divisions. Gates open at 1 p.m. with racing slated to go at 4 p.m.
