West Lebanon, NY – In the aftermath of this past spring storm, the
Valley of
Speed has been given the green light to get the 2007 season under way.
Promoter Howard Commander just finished surveying the speedway grounds,
and
more importantly, the speedway surface itself, and he has given the
thumbs
up to open the gates this coming Saturday April 14th, 2007 for the 55th
Annual opening Day.
“Obviously with the weather the way it has been as of late, we were in
a
“wait and see” mode for most of the day (Thursday)” stated Howard
Commander.
“But it seems as though we have been spared from the worst of it,
once
again.”
With nothing but some cool temperatures on the horizon, the gates to
the
legendary High Banks will open as planned at 5:00pm this Saturday.
“It seems that we are going to be pretty much the only track running
the
weekend” added general manager Lyle Devore. “So there should be a
great
turnout of those that want to get this racing season underway.”
