Super Late Models Get Their Turn at Georgetown Friday

The Super Late Models will get their first opportunity to compete on the Georgetown Speedway oval on Friday night April 20. The Super Late Models will be joined by the Crate Modifieds and Crate Late Models to feature a three race program. General admission is just $12 with kids 12 and under admitted free with a paying adult. Gates will open at 5 pm with hot laps underway at 7 pm. The first green flag of the night drops at 7:35.



Donald Lingo Jr. of Millsboro is expected to be a force in Super Late Model ranks now that he has replaced Scott Cross as the driver of the 22a car owned by Alex Beumont. Lingo is expected to be joined by fellow Delaware natives such as Dale Lingo, Kenny Pettyjohn, Rob Schirmer, Mark Pettyjohn, David Pettyjohn and many others.



Scott Haus of Hamburg , PA is expected to be an “outside” challenger when the green flag drops on the Super Late Model season on Friday night. Haus will be on a list of invaders that is expected to include Marylanders David Hill, Ray Kable Jr., Darryl Hills , and Jerry Foster.



“We are excited about the Super Late Models coming to town on Friday because you never know who will and who won’t show-up until the races begin,” remarked General Manager David Brown. Brown went on to add, “the Super Late Models produced some of the best races last year and the fans have made it known that they want to see this division at Georgetown .”



Racers competing at the Georgetown Speedway are reminded that they must run an American Racer 44 or a Hoosier 1300 or D15 on the right rear only. All cars must be equipped with a working RaceCeiver.



Georgetown Speedway, a ˝ mile dirt oval track, is located on U.S. Route 113, just 35 miles south of Dover , DE . The speedway is just a short 45 minute drive from Ocean City and just a bit longer from Washington DC , Baltimore , and Philadelphia .
