BREWERTON, NY – Due to the nagging wintry and wet conditions plaguing the Northeast, the entire opening weekend of DIRTcar racing competition at Brewerton and Fulton Speedways has been postponed one week to April 27 and 28.
The decision was made although long range weather forecasts look much warmer and drier late in the week. After a foot of wet snow on Monday, and heavy rains on Tuesday, the grounds are just too wet to prepare for this coming weekend. At least 3-4 days of ample drying and draining time are needed, when the wet weather finally stops.
Track management wishes to thank all racers, owners, and fans for their continued patience over the last several weeks and this coming weekend. Without a doubt, reality is this is the best decision for everyone involved, and proves the strong desire of management to give the racers and fans a tremendous race surface and pristine speedway grounds.
The 2007 race season will kick on Friday April 27 at Brewerton Speedway. Slated to compete on the fast 1/3-mile “D-Shaped DIRT Demon” will be the DIRT Modifieds, IMCA Modifieds, ESDCA Mod Lites, and 4-Cylinder Super Stocks. Race time for the 59th Season Opener is set for 7:30pm.
Fulton Speedway will open its 46th Season on Saturday April 28 with the mighty DIRT Modifieds in a 35-lap all-star feature event. Joining them will be the DIRT Sportsman, DIRT Pro Stocks, UMP Street Stocks, and ESDCA Mod Lites. Racing will begin at 7pm.
Admission at both sister speedways opening weekend will be Adults $12, Ages 10-14 $5, with children 9 and under admitted free of charge.
