Susquehanna, PA… The highly anticipated running of the Penn Can Spring 125 has unfortunately become another victim of the unseasonable spring weather in the northeast. Promoters Reed Miller and Al Wilcox waited as long as possible hoping that the snow covering the speedway would be gone and that drying would take place. While the snow is gone, the water left behind has left the facility too wet to chance running a race. The Spring 125 will now be rescheduled for Memorial Day Monday May 28th.
Racing will now begin with the first schedule point race Friday April 27th for all divisions competition at Penn Can Speedway. Modifieds, late models, sportsman, super stocks, pure stocks, four cylinder stocks will all be in competition.
The test and tune scheduled for this Sunday April 22nd will remain on schedule as planned. Gates for this first and only practice session at the speedway before the big season opener will open at 2:00 pm with cars taking to the speedway at 3:00 pm. Any local race team wishing for track time is welcome to test their car on this practice day. Grandstand admission will be free of charge.
Drivers wishing to purchase track memberships may do so at this test and tune session to avoid the long lines opening night. For more information about racing at Penn Can Speedway call the track office at 570-585-9928. The speedway is located on Route 171 in Susquehanna, Pennsylvania just a short drive from both the Binghamton and Scranton areas.
