INDEPENDENCE, Iowa (April 22) - While weekly points racing began on April 21 in four of the five weekly divisions, the I.M.C.A. late models will open their points season next Saturday, April 28, at Independence Motor Speedway.
The late models win join I.M.C.A.-sanctioned modifieds, stock cars and hobby stocks, along with unsanctioned B modifieds for the remainder of this season's Saturday night racing program. One hundred cars signed in for opening night action on April 21.
Budweiser, the April 28 race night sponsor, will be offering discounted prices on products sold at Independence Motor Speedway. For that event, prices on all tallboy beer products will be reduced from $3 to $2 during Budweiser's Welcome Back Night.
Gates open at 4 p.m. with hot laps scheduled for 6 and the first green flag set to fly at 6:30 every Saturday night.
