TREVOR LEWIS LEADS URC POINT CHASE AFTER THREE EVENTS
After just three events on the URC Bar's Leaks Sprint Series, we have seen three winners and three different point leaders. Following the New Egypt event Saturday night, Trevor Lewis of Upper Black Eddy, PA now leads the chase to URC's 60th Anniversary Championship title. Just off the pace and certainly within striking distance is Justin Collett along with Curt Michael, Chris Coyle and Ed Aikin who make-up the top five in the point chase.
There's a long season ahead with URC's next stop set for the Delaware International Speedway on Saturday night, May 12. Some early season strong performers include Justin Collett who is ranked second in the point chase. Ed Aikin cracks the top five in points with another top five finish at New Egypt. Piperville, PA sprint car driver Michael Carber is ranked eighth in the point chase. For Carber, his starts at Bridgeport, Delaware International and New Egypt were his first starts ever at these three tracks.
2006 URC Rookie of the Year Davey Sammons is tenth in points with Robbie Stillwaggon ranked twelfth. A special mention goes out to 2007 URC Rookie of the Year candidate Andy Hannula of Matawan, NJ. Hannula is ranked fourteenth in point after three events and scored his first qualifying victory (B Main) on Saturday night at the New Egypt Speedway.
