After a long winter, the sun was ready to shine at The New Humberstone Speedway this past Sunday, when owners Pete and Linda Cosco opened their gate for their third season for a practice day for their drivers.
More than 90 drivers showed up to test their cars and learn how to dominate the Humberstone surface and also to take advantage of the ever popular $80.00 drivers pass which expired on practice day. A deal which originated at The New Humberstone Speedway allows drivers to pay one price $80.00 and they do not have to worry about paying at pit gate the whole year as long as they are in competition.
Earlier that day, Humberstone Speedway management, officials and staff sat through a presentation by Ontario Motorsports Rescue team’s members Jenn Thiesen and Pat O’Brien on fire safety and first aid. Each and every week fans, staff and drivers are protected by four highly trained Niagara on the Lake Firefighters which form Niagara Motorsports Rescue.
Humberstone Speedway is set to begin their 2007 May 6th with Foar Score Fan Club Presents Full Card, NYDCA Open Wheel Lites & 360 Sprint Cars. It will be the first night that Niagara ’s Home to Sprint Car Racing will host the 360 Sprints. For more information please call 905-834-4002 or visit www.humberstonespeedway.com. EOT
