BECHTELSVILLE, PA MAY 6, 2007 . . . Three feature races with three different winners made for some very exciting NASCAR Whelen All American Series stock car racing at Grandview Speedway on Saturday night. Sean Merkel of Gilbertsville, PA drove to victory, leading all the laps, in the 30-lap NASCAR Modified feature while Ron Kline, East Greenville and Randy Stoudt, Pottstown, each drove to victories in the two 20-lap NASCAR Late Model feature races.
Merkel was chased to the checkered by veteran racer Ray Swinehart while Mike Gular took third followed by Jeff Strunk and Larry Soloman.
In the first 20-lapper for Late Models, rained out on April 14th, Randy Stoudt chased Ron Kline across the finish line with Brian Shuey, Mike Kellner and Sean Merkel (subbing for his younger brother Kyle in this one) following.
The second Late Model 20-lapper had Brian Shuey following Randy Stoudt to the finish line. Wayne Pfeil had his best finish since becoming a regular at Grandview finishing third followed by Rick Todorow and Dean Stoudt.
$2,531 was collected for veteran Modified racer Smokey Warren who is battling brain cancer and has no health insurance.
State Representative Doug Reichley will be a the May 12th Checkered Flag Fan Club Night to present Bruce Rogers with a State Proclamation commending him on his 45 years of successful business operations at Grandview Speedway. NASCAR Modifieds and Late Models along with Legends cars will be the featured attractions at 7:30 p.m.
