(Hartford, Ohio, May 5, 2007)-
Polesitter, Andy Priest and Ron Smoker lead the charge for the Gibson Governor Modifieds. Using the low groove to perfection Priest fought off numerous challenges from Smoker, Brian Swartzlander Weller Jr. and Rob Kristyak. On lap 10 Priest suffered front suspension problems forcing him to the Pits. Swartzlander sailed out front while Weller Jr. and Kristyak were on the prowl. Swartzlander held on for the victory as Kristyak, Del Rouguex, Rob Curtis and Dave Schrader crossed the finish line in that order. Rob Curtis and Russell King won heats.
Fifteen laps was the distance to be traveled by the Coy Bros Trucking Emods. Front row starters, Arlan Coy and Joe Gabrielson brought the field to green. As the cars entered Turn 1, 3rd place starter Scott Stiffler powered to the front into the second turn. By lap 2 seventh place starter and eventual
winner, Al Dellinger swept the top spot from Stiffler. A final yellow on the 12th circuit bunched the cars making for lots of 2 & 3 wide racing to the finish. Dellinger posted his first win of the season, Stiffler was second with McCann 3rd, Jeff Sharp 4th, and Howard Fraley 5th. Heat wins went to Dellinger
and Fraley.
First time visitor Jason Dolick drew the front row start for the Warren Harley Davidson sprint cars. Dolick and 2006 Rookie of the Year, Russ Sansosti, ran 1 & 2 until the caution fell on Lap 6 for Ed Lynch Jr. Slowing the pace on the restart, Dolick moved back out front until a hard charging Bob Felmlee from 14th, was in command by the ninth lap. As the racing continued under green, Jody Keegan raced from 12th to second but fell short of his quest to unseat Felmlee. The win was #2 for 2 for the Franklin, Pa. native.
Keegan, Jarod Larson, Russ Sansosti, and Kevin Schaeffer completed the top 5. Larson and Keegan won the heats.
Tom's Sewer & Drain Stocks 15 lap A-Main turned out to be a wild racey affair. Dave McLauglin and Charlie Jasinski ran side by side on the intial green. McLaughlin had Mike Aley and Steve D'Apolito all over
his #115 mount by the second circuit. By lap 6 Stan Woomer started mixing it up with the front runners. Lapped traffic throught turn 4 proved to be McLaughlins downfall from victory as D'Apolito went lowside of the lapped traffic while McLaughlin chose the outside lane. As the white flag was displayed, D'Apolito took the lead and held on for the victory. McLaughlin settled for second, Woomer third, Dan Lewis and Bruce Redman completed the top five. Heats went to Mike Pegher, Charlie Jasinski, Dan Lewis. Wil Aley won the Consi.
Nick Miller and Eric Williams lead the charge for the Limited Sprint Feature. Former champ, Guy Griffin, had trouble keeping his sprinter in gear, but after 2 early cautions and no laps completed, Griffin was able to finally get started. Griffin stole the show leading every lap for his 2nd win. Eric Williams
was second, Nick Miller 3rd, Klye Layton 4th and Jack Whitmore 5th. Griffin also won the heat.
