Practice day at Edelweiss Speedway
It was the annual practice day at Edelweiss to open up the 2007 racing season and many will say, finally!
Drivers and race fans got their first taste of the next season. With a beautiful afternoon on our hands, about 30 cars took some laps on a track rather dry track caused by the strong sun and some windy conditions occurring during all afternoon.
All the racing class were well represented, the modified had a local flavour with the Dagenais, Landry, Gauvreau, Foley, Larocque, a few invaders came with the visit of Stéphane Lafrance and also Chris Jones who made a long haul to come and practice.
Nicolas Vaillant and Stephane Lebrun were the only Pro-Stock drivers to take some laps.
The 2006 track champion, Nico Leblanc, was among a well represented Semi-Pro class. A lot of cars couldn’t be identified because no lettering was on them.
The 4 cylinders class had quite a few cars on hand, the Raymond brothers, Martin Lagacé and Gabriel Mercier were in attendance.
Friday, May 11, marks the official start of the season with a 50 laps feature race for the 358 modifieds along with a complete racing program. It should be again, an exciting season at Edelweiss Speedway. Be there!
