Buffalino Rebounds For New Egypt Victory

     New Egypt, NJ

Posted by Tom Ames  |  05/07/07

New Egypt, NJ (May 5, 2007) – Dominick Buffalino of South River,
NJ bounced back from his heartbreaking misfortune last week to
capture the 30 lap DIRTcar Modified feature event on Saturday night
at New Egypt Speedway. After watching a sure win slip away last week
when his battery cable came off on the final lap, Buffalino used a
lap 25 restart this week to make the winning move on race-long leader
Tom Carberry and take home the $3000 top prize.

"We should have had one last week," stated a jubilant Buffalino, "I
told the crew on the way to the track tonight that with the bad luck
we had last week something good is due to happen to us. That yellow
really helped us, fortunately I was able to take advantage of it."

Carberry lead at the start of the 30 lap feature followed by
Buffalino and Tad Cox. Carberry opened up a comfortable lead in the
early going. As the laps clicked by, Carberry and Cox, along with
last week’s winner Jimmy Horton began to slowly close in on Carberry.
The first yellow of the event waved on lap 25 when rookie Rick Wegner
spun in turn 2. Buffalino wasted no time on the restart as he blasted
under Carberry in turn two and raced to his first win of 2007. Tad
Cox drove a superb race to finish a career best second, followed by
last week's winner Horton. Ryan Godown ran a steady race to come home
fourth with Carberry holding on to finish fifth.

Rocco Infante of Robbinsville, NJ won his second career Sportman
feature, his first in 8 years. John McClelland finished second
followed by Rich Scagliotta, Glenn Pyatt and Mike Krachun.

Billy Bauer of Flemington, NJ won the 18th feature event of his
career in the 20 lap Super Stock feature to take sole possession of
first place on the all-time win list. It was Bauer’s first win in a
year and a half. Mick Search finished second, trailed by Jason
Bubeck, Todd Cray and George Marrero. In the make-up feature from
April 14th, Kory Fleming of Easton, PA captured his second win of the
season. He was chased across the line by George Quinlan, Bauer, Bill
Liedtka and Al Cheney.

In the fifth race of the Advantage Financial/Cradle Rock Developers
Rookie Sportsman series, Danny Bouc of Plumsteadville, PA won for the
fourth time, his third in a row. Dan Waisempacher was second over
Eddie Prentice Jr., Matt Holzbaur and Bobby Butler.
