40th Anniversary Season Launched

May 6 2007 ~ For Immediate Release

40th Anniversary Season Launched

The 40th Anniversary Season was launched at Brighton Speedway on Saturday May 5th. The Coca Cola Full Throttle Season Opener saw the four regular classes heading to the clay oval to lead off the quest for the 2007 Championship Titles, much to the delight of a packed house. With more than a van load of food collected at the gate, the local food bank will also be delighted with the delivery this week.

No first night can be incident free, especially with more than 70 cars on site ready to race. Doug Snarr (#5) during the Mister Signz Pure Stock Feature hit the light standard on the back straight which caused the power to be shut down as live wires were hanging in the pits. No one was hurt and track staff handled the situation quickly and effectively.

Brighton Speedway Management was pleased with the show and certain that numbers and entertainment value will only continue to grow. “For a first night we had good car counts and great crowds. We can’t anticipate things happening, like cars hitting light posts, but the staff handled everything well and made the show go on. We recognize that the track conditions were dry, apologize for the dust, and know what we need to do to keep the moisture in the 1/3 mile for the entire night. This 40th Anniversary Season is sure to keep everyone coming back to see what’s next,” said Track Promoter Mark Rinaldi.

The next race event, which includes the Season Opener for the Southern Ontario Sprints, presented by Mix 97, is scheduled for May 12th. Green flag flies at 7:00pm. For more information, contact Brighton Speedway by email info@brightonspeedway.com or by phone at (613)475-1102.
