Riverside Bar and Grill Makes ASCS Patriot Shows Up North $2,000-to-win

Rich Vleck (TULSA, Okla.) May 9, 2007 - The most lucrative season in ASCS Patriot Sprint history has just had more money added to the pot for the finest sprint car drivers in the Northeast.

Riverside Bar and Grill, located in Gananoque, Ontario, Canada, has stepped up to the plate to make races up in that region of the world even more appealing. They have also contributed significantly to the races in Central New York.

The four ASCS Patriot events nearest to Riverside Bar and Grill: Thunder Alley on June 1, Brockville on June 2 and July 14 and the Season Championship at Fulton at September 8, will all be $2,000-to-win. This is the first time stand-alone Patriot events have ever been contested for this much cash.

Riverside Bar and Grill is owned and operated by past ASCS Patriot Winner Kyle Wilson, who will be running these select shows along with his father Rick and Sister April. Kyle’s ASCS Patriot win came at Ohsweken in 2005.

Rick Wilson could stand to benefit the most from these purse increases. “The Joyceville Jet” has claimed all 3 ASCS Patriot events at Thunder Alley, and 2 out of 3 at Brockville and Fulton, accounting for exactly half of his 14 career ASCS Patriot victories.

Riverside Also Adds $1,000 into King of CNY Point Fund

Along with the top-prize bonuses, Riverside Bar and Grill has also contributed $1,000 to the A-Verdi King of Central New York Series Point Fund. The top-10 in the final King of CNY standings after this 7-race series is complete will now partake in a $3,000 King’s Ransom.

Dash at Brockville

Lastly, the Bar and Grill, located just down the road from Brockville, will sponsor the Pole Dash at the first race at “The BOS” on June 2. This will set the lineup for what should be the 5th full point race of the 2007 season.

Laps Also Added

Because of the extra money generated for many of the events in 2007, 12 of the final 18 point races of the season have been pushed to 25 laps in distance. This will be sure to add excitement for fans of the wonderful winged things. All races at tracks smaller than 3/8-mile will now be 25 laps, with ASCS Patriot events at Ransomville, Canandaigua, Rolling Wheels and Black Rock remaining at 20.
