FONDA , NY – Last Saturday evening Bobby Varin started of a very exciting month of May at the Track of Champions with his first win of the 2007 racing season. Varin was the fourth different modified feature winner in as many weeks at Fonda with Danny Johnson, Matt DeLorenzo, and Ryan Odasz winning the other events so far in 2007.

So who will be the first driver to double up this season? Or will another driver such as Ronnie Johnson who has four consecutive second place finishes, the all time modified feature win leader Jack Johnson, Dave Camara, Jim Davis, Dave Lape, or any one of the other star studded field of modified drivers make it to victory lane?

So far in 2007 in the sportsman division at Fonda, David Towns has been the dominant driver with three wins. John McAuliffe is the only other driver to make it to victory lane in the division after his win on opening day. On Saturday, May 12 the winner of the sportsman feature event will also take home a $300 bonus donated by Dairy Frost who is a longtime supporter of local stock car racing on top of the regular winners share.

Kenny Martin Jr. leads the way in the pro stock division at Fonda with two victories this season while Roy Fifield and Nick Stone each have one win apiece.

It has been the “Horning Show” so far in 2007 in the street stock division at Fonda with Dave Horning Sr. taking two wins and Dave Horning Jr. one win. Last Saturday, John Babcock broke up the Horning family dominance as he went on to the victory.

The IMCA division is a wide open affair with three different winners in as many weeks of racing as Danny Ody, Kevin Buff, and Jeremy Cramer all have one victory apiece.

On Saturday, May 12 Kiddie Rides will be a part of the racing program sponsored by Powerhouse Motorsports. All divisions will be in action this Saturday with a starting time of 6:00 p.m.

The month of May concludes with a regular show in all divisions on Saturday, May 19 and on Saturday, May 26 Veterans Night will honor all veterans on Memorial Day weekend with another regular show in all divisions.
