Reed wins wild one as Shammo's streak continues.

ATTICA, Ohio (Friday, May 11, 2007) - Byron Reed felt like he let a feature
win get away from him last week. He wasn't about to let it happen again
Friday, outdueling Rob Chaney and Greg Wilson to win his 18th career 410
sprint feature at Attica Raceway Park on World Auto Parts of Huron/Cleveland
Night.
Millbury, Ohio's Andy Shammo continued his hot streak - he won a pair of
features last Saturday at Fremont Speedway - as he grabbed the lead with
just two laps remaining to claim his third career victory in the 305
sprints.
Bellevue, Ohio's Mike Bores passed his dad halfway through the Fultz
Fabrication & Speedshop Attica Late Model's A-main - in his dad's back-up
car - and claimed his fourth career victory.
Tiffin, Ohio's Brian Arnold raced door to door with Steve Endicott the
entire 15 laps of the dirt truck feature before scoring his third career
checkered.
In the World Auto Parts of Huron/Cleveland 410 Sprint feature, Fremont's
Mike Linder grabbed the lead from his pole starting spot, but it was
short-lived, as fourth-starting Rob Chaney wheeled around Linder, Brandon
Martin and Byron Reed to grab the point on lap 4. Reed would narrowly avert
disaster on the fourth circuit as he and Mike Linder got together in turn 3,
with Reed bouncing off the inside tire barrier.
Chaney would continue to rim-ride in the lead with Reed moving into second
and ninth starter Greg Wilson sling-shoting into third by lap 8. They
continued in that order, while all eyes were on Castalia, Ohio's Caleb
Griffith. The B-main winner had steadily moved from his 17th starting spot
to 5th by lap 12. At the half-way mark of the 30-lap feature, the running
order was Chaney, Reed, Wilson, Linder and Griffith.
The action really heated up with 10 circuits remaining, as Wilson, Chaney
and Reed would race three-wide for the lead down the back stretch, with
Wilson barely holding the top spot at the flag stand over Reed, Chaney and
now 14th starter Lee Jacobs. Reed would sweep by Wilson a lap later exiting
turn 2 to take the lead. The yellow would fly on lap 24 for Wilson who
exited with a flat right rear. He would come from the tail to finish 7th.
Reed would hold off Chaney the remaining six laps for the victory, with
Jacobs finishing third, Griffith fourth and Linder battling back for fifth.
"I felt like I let one get away from us last week," said Reed who lost to
Brock Mayes by less than at foot on May 4. "I wasn't going to let that
happen again."
"I changed my line a little in turn two and was able to get under Rob
(Chaney)," said Reed beside his Reebar Diecasting, Weld Wheel, ProShock
sponsored JEI chassis.
In the 305 A-Main, Green Springs, Ohio driver Kevin Lee would jump into the
lead from his outside pole starting spot where moved when 2nd place starter
Chad Wilson spun on the initial start. Lee couldn't shake Matt Ferrell, as
the duo raced side by side until lap 10 when the action would halt for a
flip involving Bryan Sebetto and Chad Gullett (both were alright, but were
done for the night). As Lee sat on the the front stretch, his right rear
tire went flat, sending him to the pits for repairs.
Ferrell would inherit the lead but he now had his hands full with Dustin
Dinan. Those two would race side by side until Dinan got the advantage on
lap 17, bringing along 11th place starter Andy Shammo who had quietly moved
through the field. Dinan would not budge from the bottom of the track,
forcing Shammo to the middle. However, Dinan would slip up ever so slightly
exiting turn 2 with just two laps remaining, allowing Shammo to get under
him and grab the top spot.
Shammo would take the checkered over Dinan, Ferrell, Bryan Scott and Dustin
Keegan.

just appreciate it because it can change just like that," said Shammo beside
his Village Inn/Fort Ball Pizza Palace sponsored #48. "I have to thank Lamar

Mike Bores wasn't even going to race Friday night. He had nearly destroyed
his regular late model in a wicked crash the week before and it wasn't back
together. But he received encouragement from friends and family and decided
to take his dad up on his offer to drive his back-up car.
However, it was his dad, John Bores, who would grab the early lead in the
20-lap feature, with Jim Fleming and Larry Kingseed - who already has 2 wins
this season - in tow. On lap four, Kingseed would spin to make the running
order John Bores, Fleming, Mike Bores and John Mayes Sr. Mike would move
around Fleming into the runner-up spot on lap six and would pressure his dad
for the lead. Mike would slip under John on lap 10 for the top spot.
While Mike cruised to a four car-length lead, John Bores, Fleming, Mayes,
Ken Hahn and 12th-starter Ryan Missler would wage a torrid battle.
At the checkered Mike Bores took the win over John Bores, Mayes, Hahn and
Missler.
"My car was tore up pretty good and Pork Chop (Brandon Smith) worked his
tail off this week to try and get it ready...we just ran out of time. I
wasn't going to race, but dad and Brian Liskai talked me into getting the
back-up car out and here we are. That car is fast...I might have to leave
mine in the shop," said Bores beside his Wick's Bar, All Air Heating &
Cooling sponsored late model.
The dirt truck feature had some of the best racing of the night, as Brian
Arnold and Steve Endicott literally raced door to door the entire 15 laps.
Arnold would lead one lap by a foot only to see Endicott take the slight
advantage at the flag stand the next lap. Arnold was able to finally pull
away by a truck length the last two laps for the win. Endicott, Cory Ward,
12th-starter Art Ball and Shawn Valenti would round out the top five.
"Steve raced me hard and we rubbed on each other the whole race. That was a
lot of fun," said Arnold beside his Burns Electric, Make-A-Wish, Burns Iron
& Metal, Air Cooled Engines #33 truck.
Attica Raceway Park will be back in action Friday, May 18, as Fisher
Performances Presents Scout Night with the 410 sprints, 305 sprints, late
models and dirt trucks in action. All Scouts - boys and girls - and their
