Dave Sully- Little Valley Speedway
Little Valley Speedway Set for Memorial Day Weekend Opener
Little Valley Speedway, the only true half mile dirt track in the area, is primed and ready for its first show scheduled for Sunday, May 27th. The special events only track, located at the Cattaraugus County Fairgrounds in Little Valley, New York, will feature the full blown Super Late Models in six of its seven shows, including the opener. Garland, Pennsylvania’s David Scott, who won every super late model event last season, is expected back to defend his track title in the thirty-lap feature, which pays $3,000 to win. He’ll be challenged by the likes of former track champ Bob Close, Dick Barton, Todd Andrews, and Brent Rhebergen, plus young guns Doug Ricotta and Greg Oakes, and other top late model drivers in the region.
Also on the card are the Super Stocks, led by defending champ Randy Hall, racing for $1,000 to win, the E Mods, vying for a $650 winner’s check, and the Street Stocks, with champion Brett Smith, chasing $500 in first place money. The powerful E-Mods will be in action on six of the seven race nights at the Speedway this season, making the always exciting shows even better.
Admission is only $12 for adults, with those under twelve admitted free. Gates open at 3:00, with racing at 6:00. The Cattaraugus County Fairgrounds are located just north of the Salamanca exit of I-86 and only eight miles from Ellicottville on Route 353 in Little Valley. The track features a covered grandstand with stadium seats and the best food on the racing circuit. In addition, there is free camping with hookups, so bring your campers and plan to spend the night.
