Fresh off his 536th career World of Outlaws A-Main feature victory this week in the Keystone State , the King Steve Kinser will be looking to continue his winning ways when the winged warriors make their annual tour stop at Rolling Wheels Raceway Park later this month. The nationally acclaimed WoO Sprint Car Series brings its popular brand of open-cockpit competition to New York State as it invades the DIRTcar Racing NorthEast circuit for the 29th consecutive year, opening up this weekend at Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown .
Orange County kicks off the big doubleheader on Saturday, May 19 before Rolling Wheels concludes the Memorial Day holiday on Monday, May 28. The Empire State trip marks WoO's 20th stop in Middletown and the 29th appearance at Rolling Wheels. Kinser led flag-to-flag to win the First Commonwealth Bank Clash Tuesday night at Lernerville (PA) Speedway .
Aramark presents the RWR special that features a 25-lap main event for the WoO Sprints plus a full card for the DIRT Sportsman Modifieds. Come be part of the special meet & greet session slated for 6:00 p.m. Plenty of general admission tickets will be available on race day but please call ahead to get your reserved seat today!
The undisputed 'King of the Outlaws,' Kinser, 52, captured his 20th points title in 2005 and wore the inaugural Outlaws crown in 1978. Eight of his 34 victories scored on the Empire State clay have been registered at Rolling Wheels, with his last win at the Fast Track posted in 2003.
Lynn Paxton won the initial race at Rolling Wheels in 1980. Last season Donny Schatz from Fargo , N.D. drove the no. 15 Parker Store J&J to victory over Daryn Pittman, Joey Saldana, Craig Dollansky and Stevie Smith Jr. on his way to the coveted series championship. Dollansky holds the one-lap track record (15.952sec/141.048mph) at Rolling Wheels, a mark he established in June of 2004, while Smith was clocked at 16.771 sec. last season to pace the field of 32 entries.
