BINGHAMTON, NY…Race of Champions Motorsports and Dart Machinery have officially forged a marketing partnership that will encompass all of the R.o.C tours along with a newly developed Pure Stock Series on dirt. The official announcement comes after several weeks of pre-event planning by the two groups. The joint effort will certainly serve as a major boost for northeast short track racing.

As the R.o.C Dirt tours enter their third season they will now have the full support of Dart Machinery and the previously announced Dart Dirt Series. The dirt Modified series will now be known as the Race of Champions Dart Dirt Modified Tour. Erson Cams and PBM Performance is now the title sponsor of the Modifieds at each touring event. Sunoco Race Fuels remains the official racing fuel of the all R.o.C touring groups.

The Race of Champions Dart Dirt Sportsman Tour will feature the Afco/Dyna Tech Sportsman teams in twelve events throughout the northeast. The first R.o.C Dart Dirt Sportsman event takes place this Sunday, May 20th at the Utica Rome Speedway. Two previously scheduled events were rained out.

The Race of Champions Dart Asphalt Modified Tour will encompass a number of participating sponsors throughout the 2007 trail in conjunction with Dart racing. L.A. Sleeve, Comp Cams, Dura-Bond, Del-West, Total Seal, Moroso and P& M Fabrications will have a presence at all of the ’07 R.o.C Dart touring events. Dart Machinery will give away a set of heads in each of this season’s Race of Champions Dart Asphalt Modified Tour events. The asphalt tour will be redeveloping the steel head motor program for the 2008 racing season.

A newly developed Race of Champions Dart Dirt Street Stock trail will take place this summer as well. Final preparations are being made on dates and participating facilities on this new series. The Probe Industries Street Stock teams are expected to have an estimated eight to ten events this season with a much more lucrative program in place for 2008.

The newly formed relationship between the Race of Champions and Dart Machinery will benefit not only the competitors in the northeast but will help solidify the unity between participating race track operators. Race teams on all of the Race of Champions Dart Tours will see an increased season ending point fund. Manufacturer awards and bonuses will also be announced shortly as extra incentives for the participating teams. For the track operators and owners a cooperative advertising campaign has been put together to help offset some of their advertising costs. The entire program has been designed to benefit all of the participants both on and off the track.

Race of Champions owner Andrew Harpell commented, “The Race of Champions staff and Dart Machinery group share the same goals in short track racing.” “We anticipate our joint efforts will benefit racers and track owners not just for ’07 but many years to come.”

Although the official announcement was made today the relationship between Race of Champions Motorsports and DART Machinery was put on display at two touring events on Sunday, May 13th. The Race of Champions Dart Asphalt Modified Tour held its season opener at the legendary Oswego Speedway during the day. Second generation driver and 2005 R.o.C tour Champion Matt Hirschman emerged the winner of the 75 lap lid lifter. That same day the Race of Champions Dart Dirt Modified Tour made a stop at the Utica Rome Speedway for a 75 lap program. All of the top northeast dirt Modified chauffeurs were on hand for this big event. Willy Decker topped current R.o.C point leader Danny Johnson for the popular victory.

With regards to the Sunday events Harpell remarked, “We wanted to allow of the folks at Dart and the participating sponsors to see first hand our products this past weekend prior to releasing the news of our official marketing partnership.” He added, “The competition was intense at both races and certainly things will get even better at all of remaining tour races.”
