BILLY PAUCH EYES FIRST WoO WIN IN THUNDER SERIES OPENER WEDNESDAY, MAY
23RD
Billy Pauch has just about done it all in the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on
the Hill Racing Series at Grandview Speedway. Pauch is the all time
leading feature winner with eleven sprint car victories and he won five
Thunder Series titles. Wednesday night, May 23rd, Billy Pauch of
Frenchtown, NJ will look to upset the World of Outlaws and pocket the
$10,000 first place prize. This is not an easy task, as the
nationally known World of Outlaw drivers head into this event,
undefeated on the "hill". The Wednesday night event will also mark the
first point race of the newly formed DuPont Tyvek Keystone Cup Sprint
Series. With the best of the Outlaws and the PA Posse in town, this
could very well be the most talented field of drivers ever assembled at
Grandview Speedway. Gates will open at 5 PM with race time set for
7:30 PM when the COMDIAL Telephone Communications time trials open the
racing program.
The World of Outlaws will be in full force with the likes of Steve
Kinser, Donny Schatz, Danny Lasoski, Daryn Pittman, Joey Saldana, Tim
Shaffer and Jason Sides to name a few. On the PA Posse roster look for
Fred Rahmer, Lance Dewease, Greg Hodnett, Jeff Shepard, Mark Smith,
Lucas Wolfe, Alan Cole and Doug Esh to be in the mix. And by the way,
don't forget Billy "the kid" Pauch, who owns some 630 career feature
wins.
Time trial qualifying will open the program followed by a series of heat
race events, a "B" Main and the 35 lap $10,000 to win feature event.
The defending winner of this event is Donny Schatz of Fargo, ND. The 35
lap feature went non-stop in record time of just over eight minutes.
Advance tickets are now on sale. Adults tickets are $30, Children 6-11
are $10 and under the age of six will be admitted for free. Tickets may
be purchased on Saturday night at the Grandview Speedway or by calling
215-860-5631. Tickets purchased as a phone order may be picked up at
the Will Call Window on race night.
Following the World of Outlaw show on Wednesday night, May 23, the
Outlaws will head out-of-town as the DuPont Tyvek Keystone Cup Sprint
Series continues at the Big Diamond Raceway on Thursday, May 24,
Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, May 25, Lincoln Speedway on Saturday,
May 26 and the Selinsgrove Speedway on Sunday night, May 27.
The Thunder on the Hill Racing Series will continue on Wednesday night,
June 6 when the USAC National Wingless Sprint Series and the ARDC
Wingless Midgets team-up for an open cockpit wingless doubleheader.
Race time is set for 7:30 PM and advance tickets are on sale.
