Hake, Morgan and Yingling Victorious on Saturday Night at SSP
Newberrytown, PA (May 19, 2007) – The second Saturday night of racing at the Susquehanna Speedway Park found Lanny Hake picking up the Trail Motors Super Sportsman feature, Chuck Yingling won the Late Model feature and Craig Morgan battled Paul Morgan to the end to pick up the Street Stock main event. Chad Smith won the Clean Technologies Young Guns Street Stock Shootout.
Tomorrow night, Sunday night, May 20, the ASCS Sprint Cars will compete in a local show paying $1,200 to the winner. Also joining the Sprint Cars will be the Xtreme Stock Cars, Classic Cars and the Speedway Auto Sales Mini Vans.
According to sources, Lucas Wolfe’s two race win streak in ASCS Sprint Cars at SSP will come to an end on Sunday as Kenny Jacobs from Holmesville, Ohio will be a substitute driver for Wolfe on Sunday. Wolfe’s other racing commitments prevents him from extending the streak, but Jacobs will attempt to make it three in a row for car owner, Rick Kaylor. Jacobs is also expected to return on Thursday night, May 24 for the ASCoT National Sprint Car race at SSP featuring the best 360 Sprint Car drivers in the country taking on the best from the ASCS Mid-Atlantic region. National stars expected to compete include Gary Wright, Jason Johnson and Kenny Adams. A few of the stars from the National Tour have expressed an interest to compete on Sunday, May 20 as a tuner for the Thursday event.
The pit gates will open 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. Grandstand gates will open at 4:00 p.m. Warmups begin at 5:30 p.m. with qualifying races at 6:00 p.m. The national anthem will be at 7:00 p.m. followed by last chance consolation races and feature events.
General Admission Grandstand ticket prices for Sunday night will be Adults and Teens (13 & older) $12.00; Children (12 & under) are free. Pit pass prices are $20.00 with a reduced price of $18.00 for all pit competitor license holders. The minimum age requirement to purchase a pit pass is 14 years of age with a copy of a birth certificate is required for all ages 14 to 17. Prices will be slightly higher for special events.
The next Saturday night event will be next week, May 26, with the first ever Saturday night Great American School Bus race along with the Trail Motors Super Sportsman, Late Models and Street Stocks. Super Sportsman driver, Steve Wilbur and Late Model driver, Jake Jones will be giving school bus rides around the track before the races from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Then on Sunday night, May 27, a scheduling change now finds the Central PA 358 Sprint Cars replacing the 410 Sprint Cars on Sunday, May 27. The 20-lap feature event will be presented by Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic from Finksburg, Maryland paying $1,200 to the winner. Hoosier Tires will be the only tire permitted on all four corners of the car. The Memorial Day Spectacular will also feature the ARDC wingless Midgets, Legends Cars and Women on Wheels Stock Cars.
