DAVE CALAMAN POCKETS $3,500 IN JACK GUNN MEMORIAL SATURDAY NIGHT AT
SELINSGROVE SPEEDWAY

SELINSGROVE, PA . . . . . Dave Calaman of Carlisle, PA was
the man to beat Saturday night at the Selinsgrove Speedway as the URC
Bar's Leaks Sprint Series challenged the best of the Selinsgrove 358
sprint division. Calaman, representing the Selinsgrove 358 sprints and
took the lead on lap fourteen of the thirty lap feature. Calaman went
on to win over a challenging Kramer Williamson and third place finisher
Ed Aikin. A strong field of forty-six sprint cars turned out for this
event.

Five heat race events were presented with victories going to Joey
Borich, Pat Cannon, Nate Snyder, Duane Mausteller and Brook Weibley as
Scott Messimer won the "C" Main as Brian Seidel collected the win in
the "B" Main. Seidel also earned a bonus $150 for setting fast time of
the night, posted by Hackenburg Tree Service.

A field of twenty-six sprint cars took part in the 30 lap Jack Gunn
Memorial that is a point race on the URC Bar's Leak Sprint Series as
well as the Valley Forge Incorporated Pennsylvania Sprint point series.
At the drop of the green flag, pole sitter Pat Cannon gunned to an
early lead followed by Dave Calaman. Chad Layton was in the hunt racing
in third with Kramer Williamson fourth.

The first caution of the event came on lap four when Brooke Weibley
stopped on the speedway. On the restart, Cannon once again ran to hide
from the field. On lap ten, Calaman caught Cannon and made his first
attempt to take the lead. Cannon fought back and retained the top spot.
On lap fourteen, Calaman took another try and this time he succeeded to
become the new leader. As the field crossed the wire for the halfway
sign, the yellow was also displayed as a flat tire slowed Pat Cannon in
turn two. Cannon retired to the pits and never re-entered for the
balance of the feature.

At the halfway mark, Calaman continued to set the pace with the company
of Chad Layton and Kramer Williamson was the man to beat with Chad
Layton now making up ground. On lap twenty-one, the table changed and
Calaman found himself back in front as Layton was forced pull off the
track due to a flat tire. On the restart, Williamson actually nosed
into the lead, but the final caution of the night gave Calaman a second
chance to foil the lead take over attempt.

With the green flag waiving, Calaman quickly pulled away from runner-up
Kramer Williamson and third place runner Ed Aikin. With Calaman clearly
in charge, he led the final laps to pocked the $3,500 first place prize
over Kramer Williamson. Ed Aikin rallied a strong third place finish
over Larry Kelleher and defending Jack Gunn Memorial Winner Blane
Heimbach. Making up the top ten were Sean Michael, Curt Michael who
