FONDA, NY – After a rainout on Saturday, May 19 the Track of Champions now prepares for a special night of racing on Memorial Day weekend as Saturday, May 26 will be Veterans Night at the Fonda Speedway.
On the racing card will be a regular show in all divisions in action with the evening being sponsored by Jumpin’ Jacks Pro Speed Shop and the United States Air Force. Starting time will be 6:00 p.m.
With Jumpin’ Jacks Pro Speed Shop as one of the evening’s sponsors the focus will be on Jack and Ronnie Johnson who both have a great shot at winning on their sponsor’s night.
So far in 2007, Ronnie has four consecutive second place finishes along with a fifth place finish in a total of five events while Jack has three top 10 finishes to go along with a 19th and 25th place finish in five events.
Right now the point standings show Ronnie in a three way tie for the lead with Bobby Varin and Matt DeLorenzo while Jack is in a tie for the fourth position with Dave Camara.
The Air Force will have their Rapture and the Ford F-150 on display for the fans to look at. Prizes and surprises will be a part of the big show as fans will all be out to celebrate the first holiday weekend of the year.
The point standings in the modified division show a three way tie between defending track champion Bobby Varin, Matt DeLorenzo, and Ronnie Johnson all with 216 points. Jim Davis is in the second spot with 166 points followed by Tony Pepicelli with 164 points, a tie for fourth between Dave Camara and Jack Johnson who both have 158 points with Elmo Reckner completing the top five with 144 points.
In the sportsman division John McAuliffe is the point leader with 250 points followed by defending track champion John Scarborough with 232 points, Justin House with 230 points, Tony Farone with 228 points, and David Towns with 226 points.
Roy Fifield leads the pro stock point standings with 262 points as he goes for his first ever track title at Fonda. Defending track champion Kenny Martin Jr. is second with 258 points followed by Rob Yetman with 254 points, Kenny Gates with 252 points, and Nick Stone with 250 points.
The point standings in the IMCA division is led by Danny Ody with 152 points followed by Kevin Buff with 151 points, Danny Ballard with 150 points, Jeremy Cramer with 148 points, and Aaron Jacobs with 145 points.
Dave Horning Jr. leads the way in the street stock point standings with 264 points followed by his father Dave Horning Sr. with 254 points, Rocky Warner with 252 points, Neil Cosselman with 236 points, and Chuck McSpirit with 228 points.
