Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Hires Ritchie Lewis

Posted by Late Model Editor  |  05/21/07

Lucas Oil Product has announced that former UDTRA/Havatampa Series Race Director Ritchie Lewis has been hired to take over that same position with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series effective immediately. Spencer Wilson is no longer with the Series.

"I am really looking forward to my new duties with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. I enjoyed the job of Race Director very much when UDTRA/Havatampa was running a few years ago and my goals now are much the same as they were then. My top priority is to do the best I can to work with the promoters, race teams, and sponsors to bring our many fans the best show possible," said Lewis.

"Spencer Wilson was terminated due to misappropriation of funds and unauthorized business decisions. It is a truly unfortunate situation. The positive side of all this unpleasantness is that the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series was able to retain the services of Ritchie Lewis to take over as Series Director. Ritchie is a talented and well respected man, with a wealth of knowledge when it comes to Late Model racing. I am confident Ritchie can lead the Series with seasoned wisdom and integrity. Mike Swims will continue on as Series consultant and will work closely with Ritchie and his staff. Lucas Oil Products remains firmly committed to the Series and the advancement of Dirt Track racing. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series is healthy and will continue to grow stronger," said Bob Patison Executive Vice President of Lucas Oil Products.

Series Director of Future Growth, Mike Swims is very pleased to bring Lewis on board with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.

"Ritchie did an outstanding job with UDTRA/Havatampa then and he will do a great job now with this series. He has a strong reputation for taking charge and running a fair, fast moving program. He will be a great asset to the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series," said Swims.

Rick Schwallie will continue in his duties with the Series while his wife Ashley will assume the role of Registration, Records, and Bookkeeping. Series Announcer James Essex will continue to be the voice of the series and the official media contact while much of the same pit and support staff will remain the same.

Ritchie Lewis can be reached at 951-532-2503. Rick Schwallie at 951-403-1609 or Mike Swims at 951-415-0766.
