Sunday, May 27th looks to be a fun, exciting night of racing for
Thunder
Mountain fans. With this in mind, Thunder Mountain management concluded
they
would add another facet to the fun… a 40-lap, $300 to win, 4 & 6
Cylinder
Enduro. All people, all skill levels are welcome to compete in this
event.
Rules are simple.
1) Open to any 4 or 6 cylinder hardtop passenger car, minivan or
station
wagon. No trucks, 4-wheel drives, or convertibles. Engine must be stock
for
make, model, and year with no alterations. All area Road Bandits,
Lightning
Cats, Junkyard Pups, and 4 Cylinder Stocks are eligible.
2) All lights must be removed. All mirrors and windows must be removed.
Windshield is optional. If removed, a screen must be in place to
protect the
driver
3) Tires and wheels must be stock for make and model of car.
4) All cars must maintain lap belt and shoulder harness, and must be
worn by
driver at all times. 5 point racing harness is recommended. Driver must
wear
a 1990 or newer Snell approved helmet. No shorts, short sleeve shirts
or
tank tops. A driver’s suit is highly recommended.
5) Trunks, hatchbacks and doors must be fastened shut by either welding
or
chaining. Sunroofs must be covered with steel.
6) All cars must be numbered on both doors.
7) Roll cage: optional, however it is recommended that cars be equipped
with
a roll over hoop to protect the driver. Hoop should be safely
constructed of
seamless 1 ˝ x 1/8 inch wall pipe welded to right and left side frame
rails
behind the driver.
$300 will go to the winner, with trophies being awarded to the podium
finishers. A $15 entry fee will be charged for all enduro entrants.
This
will allow for all racers already at the speedway, to also participate
in
the enduro event. These rules will be made available on
