The Management of the New Egypt Speedway met on Monday morning at the
famed New Jersey dirt track to discuss and evaluate their first
quarter of racing for the 2007 season. Several topics of discussion
were on the table. This meeting concluded that the two day taxing of
our fans as well as the low car counts on our initial Friday night
has created an environment that is not financially sound for the
Speedway, and not a quality program for our fans to enjoy. Auto
racing is an entertainment business. If the entertainment is not of
the highest quality, then the results will be unacceptable Our staff
at New Egypt Speedway is committed to bringing the highest quality
form of entertainment to the fans. Owners Bill Miscoski, Fred
Vahlsing and Race Director Michael Sanchelli have formulated the
following plan which will provide the quality of racing that our fans
demand and deserve.
1. The Friday racing program has been cancelled for the remainder of
the 2007 season.
2. The SS Sprints division will be moved to an every other Saturday
card beginning with this Saturday, May 26th. ( check newly revised
schedule for details )
3. The Super Late Model division will be moved to an every other
Saturday card beginning with this Saturday May 26th.( check newly
revised schedule for details )
4. The Outlaw Stock division will be moved to an every other
Saturday schedule beginning Saturday June 2nd ( check newly revised
schedule for details )
5. The Crate 1 Sportsman division will be moved to an every other
Saturday schedule beginning Saturday June 2nd ( check newly revised
schedule for details )
6. The remaining two Legends Cars appearances will be cancelled.
7. Beginning this Saturday, May 26th, we will be returning to our
5:30 PM start time. Hot Laps begin at 5:00 PM
The Management wishes to express their heart felt apologies for the
sudden change in our racing program. We are committed to bringing the
best possible racing for the greatest fans in sports. Our focus will
be to enhance our Saturday program to make it the best night of
racing for any fan, driver, owner and sponsor to see. We are
extremely grateful for all the fans that support New Egypt Speedway
and we want to continue to build these relationships and many new
ones.
