Rain, winds interrupt Deery at Highway 3;
IMCA Late Model series event resumes May 30
ALLISON, Iowa (May 23) – A combination of rain and high winds brought
this evening’s Deery Brothers Sum mer Series event at Highway 3
Raceway to a halt after a single heat race had been completed.
Qualifying races for IMCA Sunoco Late Models will resume next
Wednesday, May 30 at Allison. Hot laps are set for 6:30 p.m. with
racing at 7 p.m.
All starting positions drawn for heats will remain the same, with new
entries added to the back.
Boone McLaughlin of Mediapolis won the heat race that made it into
the record book. Fellow top four finish ers Curt Martin of
Independence, Jeff Aikey of Cedar Falls and Todd Cooney of Des Moines
are also qualified for the postponed feature.
The next Deery Series event will be on Memorial Day at Boone
Speedway, where pit gates open at 2 p.m., hot laps are at 4 p.m. and
racing starts at 5 p.m.
The May 28 program also features IMCA Modifieds, Karl Chevrolet
Northern SportMods, Stock Cars and Hobby Stocks.

Intercomp renews Deery contingencies, gives
new awards to drivers in both Stock regions
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (May 23) – Intercomp has renewed its contingency
package for drivers in the Deery Brothers Summer Series this season,
while introducing new awards in the two regions for IMCA Sunoco Stock
Cars.
Manufacturer of the official scales for IMCA, the Minneapolis, Minn.,
company will give $100 product certifi cates to a designated place
finisher at each event in the 21st annual Late Model tour.
Top 10 drivers in both the Destroyer Chassis Southern Region and Jet
Racing Northern Region for Stock Cars receive $100 product
certificates. Intercomp had previously given race car management
software pack ages to the champion, fifth and 10th place driver in
each region.
Drivers in both divisions must display two Intercomp decals on their
race car to be eligible.
Intercomp manufactures high-performance products for use in the shop
or at the track including alignment equipment, tire and shock gauges

“The official scales used at most IMCA sanctioned tracks are the same
ones drivers could be using in their shop at home,” IMCA Marketing
Director Kevin Yoder said. “Now with Intercomp’s restructured
