May 27, 2007 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Hammett, PA).Mother Nature teased Eriez Speedway throughout the day with times of light showers and periods of sun, but heavy rains came in around 4:30 p.m. and washed out the FASTRAK Northeast Late Model Touring event on Sunday night.
Following the successful debut on Friday night at Raceway 7 where Dick Barton scored the $1,500 victory over a 20-car field, 18 cars were already signed with more expected at Eriez when track owner Bobby Rohrer had to reluctantly pull the plug on the event as the track too much rain.
Rohrer was looking forward to the FASTRAK Late Models making their debut after hearing good reports from the Raceway 7 event. Rohrer announced that all pit bands can be used at the next FASTRAK event scheduled on June 17 and that he will raise the purse from the original $1,200 event to the $1,500 pay scale. All entry monies will be go towards that event.
The next event will be Friday, June 8 when the FASTRAK Northeast Late Model Series makes their inaugural appearance at Dan Hoffman's Freedom Raceway in Delevan, New York for a $1,500 to-win event.
