Lebanon I-44 Speedway hosts MARS Outlaw Late Models Saturday
(Lebanon) The MARS Late Models return one month after a thrilling Saturday night in early May that saw 2006 Lebanon I-44 Late Model Champion Brad Looney win his first MARS series event, with Lebanon driver Brandon McCormick finishing running-up, and ahead of Bill Frye, Terry Phillips, and Jeff Taylor.
Veteran Al Purkey, who competed in last month's race, has decided to follow the 2007 MARS schedule in 2007 for one primary reason.
"We're coming to make a run for the championship," said Purkey, who has never been a regular on the MARS tour. "That's what we want."
Also, look for Jack Sullivan, Will Vaught, and Justin Wells to issue some payback to Looney and McCormick, as they look to reclaim glory at the high banks of the Lebanon I-44 Speedway.
$3,000 goes to the winner of the MARS Late Model feature, while the Modifieds, Factory Stocks, Bombers, B-Mods and Rookies will also be in action.
Gates will open at 4:30PM this Saturday. Hot laps run at 6:45PM, and racing starts at 7:30PM at the Lebanon I-44 Speedway, off of interstate exit 135. $17 for Adult Grandstand admission. Juniors 12-15 are $5. Kids under 12 are free. Wild Side admission is $20.
