Forestville, PA – May 30, 2007 – As the summer season approaches, Big Diamond Raceway is prepared for an action packed month of June. Eight race dates are on the month’s schedule.
June begins this Friday the 1st with a four division program of 358 Modifieds, Sportsman, Roadrunners, and the third appearance of the Xcel 600 Modifieds. Gates open at 5:00PM, warm-ups at 7:00PM, and racing goes green at 7:30PM.
The local racing fraternity has been talking about Thursday June 7 since the off-season. On this particular date, Seltzer Insurance presents the wingless USAC Sprints and wingless ARDC Midgets making a double header appearance. Some of the USAC heavy hitters are expected to either haul their Midgets to Forestville or secure rides in the companion ARDC Midget event. The USAC Sprint-car feature event will go a distance of 30-laps paying $4,000 to win.
Advance tickets for this event are currently available. If an advance ticket is purchased, it will allow entrance to the grandstands at 12:00PM, three hours earlier than when the regular ticket gates open (3:00PM).
One of the track tri-promoters Buddy Biever explains the advance ticket operation. “Each advance ticket will get a seat pad on race day to reserve their seats. Example, if you have a party of five purchasing advance tickets, and you come to the track at 12:00 race day we will let you in upon showing the five tickets, hand you five seat pads and select your seats. Your tickets will be stamped so that the rest of your party can enter later on, at which time we will pull the ticket stub.”
Adult General Admission for the Thursday June 7 program is $25. A driver's meeting will be held at 6PM, practice at 7PM, qualifying will begin at 7:30PM. A pit pass will be $25 for USAC members, this pit price will also be offered to ARDC and BDR license holders. Non-members will pay $30. If this event is rained-out it will be rescheduled for Friday June 8 along with the Roadrunners. The 358 Modifieds and Sportsman would then compete on Sunday June 10 with a 7:30PM start time.
Friday June 8 is Seltzer Insurance Night as the wingless ARDC Midgets return for their second appearance in two nights along with 358 Modifieds, Sportsman, and Roadrunners. Gates open at 5:00PM, warm-ups at 7:00PM, and racing goes green at 7:30PM. Adult admission for this show is only $12. Students, Seniors, Military ID $10, Kids 10 and under are free.
Sunday June 10 is race number two of the Naftzinger Used Auto Parts Nutty Buddy Enduro Series (4 cyl enduro and 6/8 cyl enduro). Start time for the enduro is 4PM and grandstand admission is a fan friendly $5. In case of a Thursday USAC rain-out, the enduros would be postponed.
