CURT MICHAEL MAKES IT LOOK EASY, POCKETS $2,000 FOR URC WIN AT DELAWARE
INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY

Curt Michael of Ocean View, DE made winning look easy Saturday night as
the URC Bar's Leaks Sprint Series returned to the Delaware International
Speedway for the third event of the Taylor & Messick Delaware State
point chase. Michael became URC's first two time winner this season and
increased his career win total to thirty-four. Glenn Fitzcharles is the
all time winningest driver in URC history with eighty-one career wins
and Michael is ranked ninth on the all time URC career win list. In
the twenty-five lap URC feature, Michael started fourth, took the lead
on lap twelve from rookie sensation Andy Hannula and was never offered a
threat on his way to the win.

A field of twenty-six URC sprint cars turned out for the event with heat
race victories going to Andy Hannula, Jamie Bodo and Davey Sammons.
During the running of the qualifying events, Robbie Stillwaggon and Mike
Kostic were involved in separate accidents that eliminated them from
competition the balance of the night. As a result, there was no need
for a "B" Main.

At the start of the URC Bar's Leaks sprint feature, Andy Hannula of
Matawan, NJ jumped into the early lead with Jamie Bodo hot in the chase.
With Michael starting fourth, it took very little time for him to move
into the action. Through the first three circuits, Hannula and Bodo
held their own as the defending champion went to work. On lap four,
Dave Betts came to a stop in turn two bringing out the first caution of
the night.

When green flag racing resumed, Hannula again impressed everyone as he
ran to hide from the rest of the field. The caution was again
displayed on lap nine when Jason Clauss stopped on the backstretch. On
the restart, Michael circled around the outside of Bodo and quickly
began to chase down the leader. When the field crossed for lap twelve,
Michael was in the top spot.

At the halfway mark of the race, Michael was on top followed by Andy
Hannula, Jamie Bodo, Kevin Welsh and Davey Sammons, Deep in the pack,
Brian Seidel was on a charge along with Kevin Welsh and Justin Collett.

On lap nineteen, the yellow was displayed for the final time when J.J.
Grasso came to a stop. Front runner Davey Sammons also headed to pits,
giving up a solid top five position.

With the green flag waiving, Curt Michael was off and running and far
ahead of the rest of the field, Kevin Welsh did advance to second with
Hannula in third and trying to hold off a determined Collett.

Five laps still remained on the scoreboard and the top five was Michael,
Welsh, Hannula, Justin Collett and Mark Bitner. Collett moved into
third on lap twenty-two and went to work chasing Welsh.

With the checker flag waiving, Michael took the win with Kevin Welsh
second, Collett third as Andy Hannula and Mark Bitner made-up the top
five. In the top ten were Brian Seidel (advanced 18 spots), Jamie Bodo,
Michael Carber, Jimmy Martin and Josh Weller.

The Fred's Trailer Parts Center Hard Charger award went to Brian Seidel
for advancing eighteen positions. The LikeWise Construction fast time
of the night was awarded to Chris Coyle. CnB Mushrooms added an
additional $50 to the feature finishers in positions seven through
tenth.
