FULTON, NY – This Saturday June 9 at Fulton Speedway, Ferris Industries will present the highly anticipated 10th Annual “Showdown at Sundown” Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series 100-lap event for Big Block Modifieds. Also in race action at the “Home of the Victoria 200” are the DIRTcar Sportsman, Gypsum Express Crate Sportsman, UMP Street Stocks, and Enduros. Time trials for the Modifieds will be at 6:30pm with racing beginning at 7pm.
The night will begin right at 5pm, with a “Meet and Greet” Autograph Session behind the grandstands in turn four featuring the top touring drivers from the Advance Auto Parts Modified Super DIRTcar Series. Brett Hearn, Danny Johnson, Alan Johnson, Steve Paine, Dale Planck, Jimmy Phelps, Gary Tomkins, Frank Cozze, Tim Fuller, and Matt Sheppard will all be on hand to sign autographs and meet you, the race fans.
With nothing but the very best field of Modified drivers assembled on a Saturday night in all of the Northeast, you will never really know who could land in victory lane when the checkered flags fall in the 100-lap Showdown at Sundown paying $6,000 to win. Joining the above drivers will be Fulton Speedway’s tough and gritty veterans who have called the high banks their home for many seasons. Kevin Bates, Vinnie Vitale, Brian Weaver, Dan Vauter, Jim Witko, Chad Phelps, Kenny Stafford, Tom Sears, Scott Prentice, and John Barker will all be ready to protect their home turf from the invading warriors in the full track points paying show. Also expected are Mitch Gibbs, Billy Decker, Pat Ward, Pat O’Brien and Ryan Phelps.
Also in race action are the DIRTcar Sportsman, Gypsum Express Crate Sportsman, UMP Street Stocks, and Enduros. Sammy Reakes IV, Chris Hile, John Pietrowicz, Jeremy Pitcher, and last year’s champion Shawn Donath lead the standings in the DIRTcar Sportsman. Winning features to date in the Gypsum Express Crate Sportsman are Stephan Planck, Jeff Isabell Jr., Brad Godshalk, Sean McCarthy, and Timmy Sears.
The exciting UMP Street Stocks and 4-Cylinder Enduros will round out the fast paced race program. Dave Mannise, Ron Hawker, Dan Hofmann Sr, Gary Barton, Steve Woodworth, Steve Crouse, and Jim Wallace all expect to contend in the door handle to door handle battle. Mark Johnston, Jon Shumway, Jerry Herbert, Josh Herbert, and Marjorie Wallace will all battle for Enduro glory.

Admission prices this Saturday June 9 for the Ferris Industries 10th Annual “Showdown at Sundown” 100-lap Advance Auto Parts Modified Super DIRTcar Series event are a reasonable $20 for Adults, $10 for ages 10-14, and children 9 and under are free with a paid adult. With five strong and exciting divisions on the card including the 100-lap Super DIRTcar Series event, the show is surely to be nothing but a bargain for race fans. A large crowd is expected as the event will be the first ever to be run on a Saturday night during the regular season.
