Ronald McDonald to welcome fans Saturday at Fremont.
By Brian Liskai
FREMONT, Ohio (Wednesday, June 6, 2007) - "I'm lovin it!" That what Ronald
McDonald had to say about the night he has planned at Fremont Speedway
Saturday, June 9.
Not only will Ronald be on hand at "The Track That Action Built," handing
out goodies for the kids, but the Tackle Box II will also sponsor 10
bicycles to be given away to kids 10 years old and under.
And for mom and dad - the racing action will surely excite and entertain.
The fire-breathing, mud-slinging Fort Ball Pizza Palace 410 Sprints and the
Fremont Fence Dirt Trucks will be in action on McDonald's Night. And, since
school is out for the summer, the popular student-transports will race two
special events - one pitting professional school bus drivers against each
other, and the second race featuring race drivers behind the wheel!
The ladies will also get behind the wheel of the dirt trucks for the
traditional Powder Puff race.
It will be a special night for the dirt trucks, as they will be competing
for $1,000 to win in the feature event! And thanks to Excuses Lounge in
Sandusky, the truck drivers will also qualify (one lap) with the quickest
time taking home $100 (second quick, $75; third quick, $70; fourth quick,
$65; fifth quick, $50; sixth quick, $45; seventh quick, $35; eighth quick,
$30; ninth quick, $20; and tenth quick, $10).
In addition, BMS Engines and Bob's Machine Shop of Fostoria are going to pay
the winner of each heat race $50 with second taking home $30 and third place
earning $20.
Fans are encouraged to get to the track early, as there will be an autograph
session for the Fort Ball Pizza Palace 410 Sprint drivers along the
grandstand midway at 7 p.m. Drivers are encouraged to bring their t-shirts
and other merchandise to sell as there will be tables set up.
Fremont Speedway is located at the corner of Rawson Ave. and North Street in
the historic Sandusky County Fairgrounds, just south of the Ohio Turnpike
Exit 91 (St. Rt. 53 south). Gates will open Saturday at 4:30 p.m. with
racing slated to get underway at 7:30 p.m. For more information log onto
www.fremontohspeedway.com or call the track office at 419-862-2206.
