Batavia, NY—Jun. 6, 2007--By: Chris Rhynold, Media/Racer Relations Director
This week Pepsi presents Kids Baseball Night along with the 5 Star program plus a sprint car exhibition to display the format of the Pro-Syn Oil Scramble that will be used for the Western New York 360 Sprint Car Shoot-Out.
Kids in full uniform can compete in a throwing contest and two lucky contestants will take part in a ‘Crazy Bat Spin’ race.
A handful of Sprint Cars will be on hand this week to exhibit the Pro-Syn Oil scramble that will be used at the Western New York 360 Sprint Car Shoot-Out. At press time Mike Stelter, Scott Kreutter and Rob Pietz have confimed they will be in attendance.
In racing action, Jon Rivers will be looking to go two in a row and try to keep the other 360 Late Model drivers out of the win column.
Jeb Walworth picked up his first career Street Stock win and is looking to hold off the hard charging Bill Weller and Joey Spicola. The point’s battle in the street stocks is tight and any one of the top four can be on the top of the points chase after this week.
In the Sportsman division Rob Pratt is looking to extend his points lead and go for win number four on the season. Rob Pratt and Steve Avery spoke about how they were lucky to get the win last week as something just wasn’t right with the car and that it was misfiring when exiting the turns every circuit.
In the Mini Stocks, Dan Norton picked up his first of the season and looks to return to victory lane. Russ Wassner, Ken Hixenbaugh and Nick Skeet along with Norton are in a four way battle for the points chase.
Controversy struck the Pro-Stocks this past week when two drivers were disqualified rules infractions. Staying out of the controversy was Don Barnes who picked up his first ever Pro-Stock feature win.
Don’t forget to stop by the All New Souvenir Booth located behind the main tower to pick up your souvenir program and Genesee Speedway apparel.
