Limited Sprint and E-Mod makeup features from May 19 to be raced first
HARTFORD, Ohio; June 6, 2007 - After rain on June 2, the FANtastic Five divisions will be eager to get back racing on the Sharon Speedway 3/8-mile oval on Saturday, marking the sixth night of regular racing in 2007. The evening's festivities are sponsored by Independent Insurance Agents of Trumbull County and Stanwade Metals.
For the second time this season, fans will be treated to a pair of bonus features on Saturday. The Limited Sprint makeup from May 19 will kick off the evening, with the Coy Brothers Trucking E-Mod feature from May 19 to follow.
On the track, five point leaders will be looking to extend their margins on Saturday. It has been a two horse thus far in the Warren Harley-Davidson Sprint Cars. Bob Felmlee (Franklin, Pa.), who has won three features this season, leads Ed Lynch, Jr. (Apollo, Pa.), who has visited victory lane twice in 2007, by 28 points after five races.
Brian Swartzlander (Leechburg, Pa.) currently leads Del Rougeux (Frenchville, Pa.) by seven markers in the Gibson-Governor Insurance Modified points. Swartzlander (one) and Rougeux (two) are accountable for three of the five feature victories in the big blocks. Rex King (Bristolville, Ohio) in third and Jim Rasey (Southington, Ohio) in sixth are the other modified feature winners this season.
Alan Dellinger (Hermitage, Pa.) currently sits atop the Coy Brothers Trucking E-Mod standings. Dellinger, who has chalked up a pair of feature wins, leads Jeff Sharp (Canfield, Ohio) by 17 points after four races this season. In the Tom's Sewer and Drain Service Pure Stocks, Dan Lewis (Hubbard, Ohio) has kicked off the year with two wins and four top fives after five races. As a result, Lewis holds a 32-point lead over Steve D'Apolito (Boardman, Ohio).
Former champion Guy Griffin (Greenville, Pa.) has begun the Limited Sprint season with three victories after four 15-lap features this year. Griffin holds a 29-point edge over Nick Miller (Greenville, Pa.). Miller is the only other driver who has won a feature this season in the Limited Sprint Division.
Saturday evening will feature a Road Course Helmet Dash and a Gold Rush at intermission, and the Kids Crew will also meet. Tickets for Saturday evening's show will be available at a price of $11 for adults (16 and older), $5 for kids (12-15) and free for children 11 and younger.
