RAIN HALTS THE SHOT DROP/RISLONE SPRINT NATIONALS AT WILLIAMS GROVE
A field of forty-nine sprint cars entered the 2nd Annual Shot
Drop/Rislone Sprint Nationals sanctioned by URC on Friday night at the
historic Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, PA. A driver roster
just bursting with talent began the CnB Mushroom qualifying with fast
time going to Lucas Wolfe. Making up the top five in time trial
qualifying was Kramer Williamson, Chad Layton, URC's point leader
Justin Collett and Ed Aikin. Following time trials, a violent storm
moved into the area. With high winds, thunder, lightening and rain
hovering over the speedway, track management was forced to cancel the
event.
Time trials for the Shot Drop/Rislone Sprint Nationals will stand as
official with the five heat race event line-ups set to go when the rain
date is confirmed and announced.
URC's 60th Anniversary season will continue on Saturday night at the
Lincoln Speedway. Next weekend, URC heads to the Grandview Speedway
for a Saturday night, June 16 race date followed by a stop at New Egypt
on Saturday night, June 23. On Wednesday night, June 27 URC will be
part of the Kasey Kahne Foundation sprint event at the Williams Grove
Speedway. URC will close out the month of June with a stop at the
Delaware International Speedway on Saturday night, June 30.
