BREWERTON, NY – Syracuse.com and Maple View Garage will present one of the most popular nights of the 2007 race season this Friday June 15 with the first Family Autograph Night of the year. After the heat races, all cars and drivers will be brought down on the frontstretch for an autograph session. In race action at the “D-Shaped DIRT Demon” will be the DIRTcar Modifieds, IMCA Modifieds, ESDCA Mod Lites, 4-Cylinder Super Stocks, and 4-Cylinder Enduros. Race time at the Oswego County track is set for 7:30pm.
Race action has been intense as ever in the headline DIRTcar Modified division with five different winners in as many events. A controversial last lap finish between new rivals Willy Decker and Alan Johnson on June 1 still has fans talking about the excitement coming this Friday. To date, Tom Sears, Kevin Bates, Jimmy Phelps, Alan Johnson, and Willy Decker have all visited victory lane. Looking to break into the winner’s circle this Friday in the huge 35-lap event are Chuck Bower, Kenny Stafford, Dan Vauter, Jim Witko, Scott Prentice, and Tim Sears.
Dale Caswell continues to dominate the IMCA Modified division with three straight feature wins. Kevan Cook leads the standings over Pete Anderson, Greg Kimball, Caswell, and J.J. Courcy. Matt Wetterer recently became the third winner of the year in the 4-Cylinder Super Stock ranks with Chuck Powelczk and Claude Hutchings also winning. In the 4-Cylinder Enduro ranks, Josh Herbert, Jerry Curcie Jr., Jerry Herbet, Devon Rookey, and Eric Dawley currently lead the standings.
In the ESDCA Mod Lites, Dan Williams is undefeated with five consecutive feature victories. Doug Williams, Justin Crisafulli, Lowell Zehr, and Tim Devendorf will try to put an end on Williams’ reign. A 10-race $500 bounty has been placed on Dan Williams, and will go for 10 weeks. The amount will begin at $50 and raise the same amount each week. To claim, a driver must win a race over Williams in the feature event.
During intermission, all the racecars and stars of Brewerton Speedway will be brought out onto the frontstretch for the highly anticipated Family Autograph session. Race fans and children of all ages will have full access to meet their favorite drivers and check out their fast cars. Autographs, photo opportunities, driver cards, candy, handouts, and much much more will all be available in the popular event.
