URC RAIN OUT EVENTS RESCHEDULED FOR JULY & AUGUST
The Shot Drop/Rislone Sprint Car Nationals, which were cancelled due to
a violent rain storm on Friday night at the Williams Grove Speedway, is
now re-scheduled for Friday night, August 3rd. A field of forty-eight
sprint cars took part in time trials, which were completed on Friday
night, June 8 just prior to the rain storm. The time trial results will
stand and the show will start with the five heat race events. The Shot
Drop/Rislone Sprint Nationals will pay $4,000 to win, $1,000 for tenth
and $300 just to take the green in the 25 lap feature event. The Shot
Drop/Rislone Sprint Nationals and the 410 Sprints will make-up the
doubleheader program on August 3rd at the historic Williams Grove
Speedway in Mechanicsburg, PA.
The second make-up rain date for URC involves the May 26 event at the
Bridgeport Speedway. This event was possibly one of Bridgeport's
biggest crowds of the year and was cancelled due to a severe storm that
moved into the area just before URC qualifying unfortunately, forcing
cancellation of the event. Bridgeport Speedway, URC and event sponsor
Kent Construction were all in favor of finding a suitable date to
make-up the May 26 rain out. The initial consideration was to insert
the URC make-up event on July 7, however, due to the televised NASCAR
event from Daytona on that night, it was decided to reschedule this
event for Friday night, July 6th. This would act as an opportunity for
Bridgeport Speedway to test the option of running URC events on their
weekly Friday night program.
A complete time schedule for the Friday night, July 6th event at
Bridgeport Speedway will be announced shortly.
The URC Sprints will also be at the Williams Grove Speedway on Wednesday
night, June 27 to be part of the Kasey Kahne Foundation event. This is
an invitational event for URC so cars owner wishing to complete, should
contact URC by calling 302-422-1508. There is a lot of interest and the
limited number of available spots are expected to fill up quickly.
The most current and updated 2007 Bar's Leaks Sprint Series is now
available.
