By Martin Bélanger
CORNWALL, On – Sunday June 10, 2007, it was finally opening night at Cornwall Motor Speedway, the stands were packed along with the pits with a whopping car-count of 114 cars on this beautiful Sunday night.
In the first of two features race of 25 laps for the modifieds, 24 cars took the green has Yan Bussière was able to lead the feature, from wire to wire to win his first career feature at Cornwall. He had to hold off Boisvert a few times during this finale. It was his second feature of the weekend, as he won at Drummondville on Saturday night. Only one caution happened in this race as McDonald spun off in turn 3 and 4 on lap 7. Danny Johnson finished third, Roy Tarbell fourth and Mark Hitchcock rounded up the top 5.
In the second twin 25 laps feature, Billy Cook grabbed the lead on the initial start for the first 5 laps when a caution brought back the field together. Pierre Dagenais took the lead with some outside moves on Cook on the restart, followed by Brian McDonald who is now challenging Dagenais for the lead and is able to take it from him on lap 7 and keeps it until lap 20 when a hard charging Dagenais who has raced from on the outside groove all night long, passes McDonald but Danny Johnson who started twentieth on the field is now in the top 3 and challenges both Dagenais and McDonald for the lead. A great move of the Doctor over Dagenais on the last lap enables him to get a spectacular win on this second feature. Dagenais is second, McDonald third, Clément Therrien and Kyle Dingwall complete the top 5. Bussière, Boisvert, Tarbell and Bill Mullin won the heats and McDonald was the winner in the consis.

Michel Desjardins finished second and Derek Cryderman completed the top 3. Sloan Shuman and Mullin won the qualifying heats.
The 4 cylinders brought up 24 cars for their 12 laps feature race. Corey Jalbert on the pole for this one but Martin Bernard take the lead on the first lap after starting fourth but a caution on lap 7 for a 2 cars tangle in the backstretch gives a chance to the field to regroup.
