Newberrytown, PA (June 16, 2007) – Stock Car Saturday night at the Susquehanna Speedway Park found Carl Billet in victory lane after the 20-lap Late Model feature. Kory Sites won the Street Stock feature event after the top four cars were eliminated from the event in a late race accident. Matt Wampler won the Xtreme Stock Car feature event. John Stoll, Jr. was victorious in the Four Cylinder Stock Cars feature event. Bob Campbell won the Penn Mar Vintage Car feature and Kendra Knaub won an exciting XSC Rookie Rumble race after battling Adam Doll the entire race. All feature event winners also each picked up a large sub courtesy of Rock It Pizza.
In the 20-lap Late Model feature event, Randy Christine, Jr. jumped out to the early lead over Travis McClelland and Gerry Stuttings, Jr. A caution on lap 4 found two cars collected in turn 1 and 2. On the restart, Christine continued to lead with yet another caution flag flying on lap 5. On the restart, Sterling Kinard moved in to take the lead on lap 6 from his sixth place staring spot. Kinard continued to lead through a few more caution periods, but SSP point leader, Carl Billet methodically moved his way into second by lap 14 and took the lead from Kinard on lap 16. At the finish it was Carl Billet over Sterling Kinard and Carl Graves. Mike Walls and Randy Christine, Jr. rounded out the top five.
In the 20-lap Street Stock feature, Dustin Hollinger jumped out to the early lead and didn’t look back in the early stages of the race. Fortunately he didn’t because there were many two, three and four battles all the way back to the last spot. A caution at the midway point for a stopped Craig Morgan bunched everyone up behind the leader.
On the restart, Brian Hauenstein and Todd Bowersox stayed glued to the bumper of Hollinger. By lap thirteen, Paul Morgan entered the battle. On lap 14, contact between Hauenstein and Hollinger in turn 3 collected the top four running cars. Hollinger, Hauenstein and Morgan were unable to continue. Bowersox was relegated to the rear for being caught up in the caution. This handed the lead to fifth place runner Kory Sites.
When action resumed, Sites pulled out to a five car lead over a four car battle between Joey Hoffer, Steve Dove, Gary Johnston and Joe Whiteley. A caution on lap 18 bunched the field up yet again behind Sites. At the finish, Kory Sites held on for the win over Steven Dove, Gary Johnston, Joe Whiteley and Joey Hoffer.
In the 30-lap Xtreme Stock Car feature, Tim Hahn jumped out to the early lead followed by Travis Horan, Matt Wampler and Sam Rial. Sam Rial took the lead on lap 7 and held on for five more laps. Matt Wampler scooted into the lead on lap 13 and held off numerous challenges for the lead. Wampler was victorious, followed by Brent Fogelsanger, Michael Goodwin, Sam Rial and Donnie Broderick.
