St. Catharines, ONT – June 17, 2007 – By Gary Montgomery, BRP CanAm Series PR
The 2007 BRP CanAm Series heads for a tough doubleheader weekend on Friday, June 22 and Sunday, June 24. The Friday event will take place at the Friesen Family’s Ransomville Speedway on the Niagara Frontier in Ransomville , N.Y. Sunday night, the action moves east to the “Capital of DIRTcar Racing NorthEast” at the Cayuga County Fair Speedway [CCFS] in Weedsport , N.Y.
Dave Miller is the defending CCFS race winner. Highlights of that event include Dave Miller’s win after his son Bruce was knocked out of the top spot late in the race, Jason DuPont’s charge from the B-Main to the runner-up finishing position, and 45 BRP CanAm entries who enjoyed sharing the night with the World of Outlaw Late Model Series.
Jeremy Wonderling is the defending champion of the Ransomville event. Wonderling’s Ransomville win is still being talked about as one of the best BRP CanAm A-Mains ever. Wonderling and Randy Hall staged a classic side-by-side duel with Wonderling knocking down the fences with Hall bottom feeding. Wonderling hopes for a return to the Ransomville victory lane and his first 2007 Series win.
Ransomville and Cayuga County will be the fifth and sixth events of the 2007 Series. Tour winners to date include Larry Knowles at Black Rock, Randy Hall at Merrittville, Steve Dixon at Woodhull and Jim Johnson at Humberstone. 49 drivers have competed in the four 2007 BRP CanAm events completed to date. Most of those drivers and several others are expected to make the CCFS trip to share the stage with Chubzilla [Chub Frank], Cat Daddy [Clint Smith], and the nationwide WoO LMS travelers.
