BREWERTON, NY – The long awaited debut of the Victoria 200 Rules Modified Mini-Series at Brewerton Speedway is coming Tuesday June 26 featuring Victoria 200 Modified Rules with sail panels and any 92” by 13” Dirt Modified tire (durometering 40 or above). A tremendous field of Modifieds is expected as any engines up to 500ci are allowed on alcohol or gasoline. Completing the action packed mid week three division show at the “D-Shaped DIRT Demon” are the ESDCA Mod Lites and UMP Street Stocks. Race time at the Route 11 track is set for 7:30pm.
Expected are many of the top names in Northeast Dirt Modified racing under this special rules package that allow as many drivers possible to compete. Invaders heading to Brewerton are Danny Johnson, Billy Decker, Pat Ward, Ryan Phelps, Dale Planck, Jim Mahaney, Matt Sheppard, Mitch Gibbs, Bobby Varin, and Robert King. Track regulars looking to hold down their home turf in the 35-lap $2,000 to win special are Alan Johnson, Jimmy Phelps, Kevin Bates, Willy Decker, Chuck Bower, Tim Sears, and Tom Sears. You never know who will show up at the speedway for the first sail panel race since the end of the 1993 season.
In the first Victoria 200 Rules Modified Mini-Series event held at Fulton Speedway on May 22, Pat Ward edged teammate Billy Decker by inches in a thrilling green to checker photo finish over Matt Sheppard, Alan Johnson, and Jimmy Phelps. Without a doubt, this rule package proved itself to be like a walk down memory lane and popular with all the race fans.
The Victoria 200 Rules Modified Mini-Series which leads up to and runs the same exact rules as the $25,000 to win Victoria 200 on September 29, is a three race unsanctioned series at Fulton Speedway and a three race unsanctioned series at Brewerton Speedway to promote the Victoria 200. The concept is simple as points will be kept for each track and the champion of each series will become the only two guaranteed starters for the 22nd Annual Victoria 200.
In the ESDCA Mod Lite ranks, Dan Williams has a stranglehold on the competition with six straight 20-lap wins as of this writing. If he reaches victory lane on Friday night, he will have a shot on Tuesday at tieing Tony Buffa’s record win streak of eight consecutive wins in 2001. Justin Chrisafulli, Doug Williams, Lowell Zehr, and defending champion Tim Devendorf all want to put a stop to the madness.
The UMP Street Stocks will fill out the quick mid-week three division show with their exciting style of door handle to door handle excitement. Dave Mannise, Ron Hawker, Nathan Peckham, Steve Woodworth, Jim Wallace, Gary Barton, and Dan Hofmann Sr. all figure to have a hand in the battle for victory.
The gates this Tuesday June 26 at Brewerton Speedway for the Victoria 200 Rules Modified Mini-Series special will open at 5:30pm with racing promptly beginning at 7:30pm. Admission prices are very reasonable for a mid week show at $12 for Adults, $5 for ages 10-14, and children 9 and under are free with a paid adult. Pit admission is $20 for DIRT/IMCA Members and $25 for Non-Members.
