"The Boys are Back in Town” – Lucas Oil 358 Shootout is coming to town.

Batavia, NY—June 20, 2007--By: Chris Rhynold, Media/Racer Relations Director

After his round one win at Ransomville Speedway, Scott Kerwin is looking to extend his points lead when the Lucas Oil Shootout 358 Modified Series comes to town this Saturday. Other modified drivers such as defending champion Scott Wood and “Mr Smallblock” Pete Bicknell are looking to pounce and take the lead away from Kerwin. Also, don’t count out guys like Chad Brachmann, Adam Ferri, Larry Lampman, Jeff McGinnis, Robbie Krull and Kevin Wills who are always strong runners. Also added to the mix is the opportunity for some of the hometown sportsman regulars to mix it up with the 358’s as the Troyer Race Cars Sportsman Division has the night off.

This week will see double features for the Greenlief’s Restaurant Pro Stocks as the feature from last week was postponed due to time issues. Genesee Speedway has also added $25 to each position for the qualified drivers from last week for the make-up feature.

“Boy Wonder” Jeb Walworth is on a hot streak. Walworth has scored his 3rd consecutive Bobcat of Buffalo Street Stock Division feature. Although the Churchville native has been on a hot streak he must stay focused and consistent as 2nd place runner Joey Spicola is a mere 4 points behind Walworth.

Jim Johnson made his way back to victory lane at Genesee Speedway in the BDK Construction 360 Late Model Division after a couple of tough weeks. The 360 Late Models ran one of their better races this past week and we hope to see this trend continue. Although Johnson had a couple of bad weeks he still holds the points lead over Bob Babbitt by 14 points.

Bobby Dickinson made his first 2007 appearance in victory lane this past week in his new ride in the Dickinson’s Auto Service Mini Stocks. Dickinson currently sits 6th in points, 40 points back from the leader but if he shows any kind of dominance like he did last Saturday it will take no time for him to be in the battle for the lead. Only 10 points separates the top 3 of Russ Wassner, Ken Hixenbaugh and Dan Norton.
