Newberrytown, PA (June 20, 2007) – This Saturday, June 23, Stock Car Saturday Night returns Racing returns to SSP on Saturday, June 16, when Stock Car Saturday Night continues with a special 20-lap Women on Wheels Mid-Summer Championship race along with Late Models, Street Stocks, Xtreme Stock Cars, Classic Cars and York Haven Auto Sales Mini Vans.
Linda Klinger of Camp Hill and Chris Lucas of Shermansdale were the winner’s of last week’s Superior Home Race Car Ride-Along with Ray Broderick. Each winner will receive three laps in the passenger seat of Ray’s Xtreme Stock Car this Saturday Night at race speed. Every week, two paid general admission ticket will be drawn to win a ride-along in the Superior Homes Xtreme Stock Car for the week after.
Last Saturday night found Carl Billet in victory lane after the 20-lap Late Model feature. Kory Sites won the Street Stock feature event after the top four cars were eliminated from the event in a late race accident. Matt Wampler won the Xtreme Stock Car feature event. John Stoll, Jr. was victorious in the Four Cylinder Stock Cars feature event. Bob Campbell won the Penn Mar Vintage Car feature and Kendra Knaub won an exciting XSC Rookie Rumble race after battling Adam Doll the entire race. All feature event winners also each picked up a large sub courtesy of Rock It Pizza.
General Admission Grandstand ticket prices for Saturday night will be Adults and Teens (13 & older) $12.00; Children (12 & under) are free. Pit pass prices are $20.00 with a reduced price of $18.00 for all pit competitor license holders. The minimum age requirement to purchase a pit pass is 14 years of age with a copy of a birth certificate is required for all ages 14 to 17.
The pit gates will open 4:30 p.m. Grandstand gates will open at 5:00 p.m. Warmups begin at 6:30 p.m. with qualifying races at 7:00 p.m. followed by consolation races and feature events.
There will be a $2.00 repeat fan discount for each person with a ticket stub from races during the previous week’s events completed only. Returning fans are encouraged to write their name, address and phone number on the back of the stub to be entered into special drawings during the season for great prizes. Last season, 10 winners were drawn from the repeat fans and each winner received $30 in SSP Gift Certificates for tickets or concessions. The Repeat Fan Discount is not valid for pit pass purchases.
The raindate for Saturday, June 23 will be Sunday, June 24 with a start time of 6:00 p.m.

SSP Pit Notes
- The second annual Eichelberger’s U-Pull It Super Show is scheduled for Tuesday night, July 3 featuring the ARDC Midgets, 600cc Micro Sprints, Legends Cars and Women-on-Wheels Stock Cars. The racing events begin at 7:00 p.m. The Super Show is part of the newly formed PA 600cc Sprint Car Speedweeks with races also at Hill Valley Speedway (July 1 - $5,000 to win), Path Valley Speedway (July 2 - $1,000 to win), Linda’s Speedway (July 6 - $1,000 to win) and LANCO Speedway (July 7 - $10,000 to win). The 600cc feature at SSP will pay $1,000 to win. The raindate will be Wednesday, July 4. Entries from competitors all over the United States are expected.
- A Stock Car Summer Vacation – On Saturday, July 14, Miller’s Racing Parts along with SSP will present “A Stock Car Summer Vacation” featuring the Super Late Models paying $2000 to win for the 25 lap feature event. This marks the return of the Super Late Models for the first time in nearly 20 years to the speedway. Also that night, the SSP Limited Late Models will compete in a 25-lap non-point feature paying $1,000 to win. The Xtreme Stock Cars will also be in action. The racing events will begin at 7:00 p.m. The raindate will be Sunday, July 15.
- Postponed Event from May 27 Rescheduled - The rain-postponed Memorial Day Spectacular from Sunday night, May 27 has been rescheduled for Sunday, August 19. The racing classes include the Central PA 358 Sprint Cars, ARDC Midgets and Legends Cars. The 20-lap 358 Sprint Car feature event will be presented by Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic from Finksburg , Maryland paying $1,200 to the winner. Hoosier Tires will be the only tire permitted on all four corners of the car. Mufflers are not required for the 358 Sprint Cars only. Both pit and grandstand rainchecks may be used from May 27 at any race during the next three weeks (until Saturday, June 16) or for the race on Sunday, August 19. Since no cars were able to qualify before the rains hit the speedway, new entries for the race on August 19 will be permitted.
- Xtreme Stock Car Points Fund Announced – SSP in pleased to announce a season-ending points fund for the Xtreme Stock Car division paying $300.00 to the champion. The top 10 positions will receive points fund monies. The point fund is sponsored jointly by Superior Homes ( Lancaster , PA ), Erb’s Custom Performance ( Wellsville , PA ) and The Madison Recovery Homes ( York , PA ). These companies will also sponsor the 50-lap Xtreme Stock Car feature during the Miller’s Racing Parts Fall Classic race on October 19 and 20 paying $1,000.00 to the winner.
- New Information for “The Outback” Track at SSP – The Outback Track at SSP is still currently under construction for Quarter Midgets, karts and more. The days of operation will be Saturday during the daytime hours. As work continues, the first open practice date has been pushed back to a date to be announced based on the delivery of the clay.
Competitive racing is set to begin after a few practice dates have been completed. The classes/types of cars or karts will be developed during the open practice sessions. Details will continue to be released as they become finalized.
