2007 Fair Week at Cayuga County Fair Speedway kicks off Thursday, July 5 and continues through the weekend with a full show of car racing scheduled for Sunday, July 8. In the mix are a Mr. DIRTcar Street Stock Super Series event presented by Caprara Bros. Outdoor Toy Store, Enduro Championship and $5,000 Open Demolition Derby highlighting four straight nights of motorsports entertainment at the home of DIRTcar Racing NorthEast in Weedsport , N.Y.
It all begins on July 5 with trackside action on the legendary 3/8-mile clay oval featuring a $500-to-win Mr. DIRT Street Stock Series title race plus Mod Lites and Outlaw Sliders.
The annual Pick-N-Pull Auto Parts Independence 201 Enduro Championship headlines the festive speedway card on July 6. The 201-lap race winner will pocket a lucrative first-place cash prize of $1,000, the runner-up will earn $300 and the third-place finisher in the double-century grind will take home $200. Special awards will also be handed out to the highest finishing mini van, station wagon and car equipped with an automatic transmission, with a front row start given out to the fan’s choice of best appearing car.
On Saturday, the Taylor Rental Broken Hearts Divorcee Demolition Derby and single-lap, single-elimination Spectacular Drags build up to the $5,000 Mega-Mash & Crash Open Demo. Oval track events bring a climax to the Cayuga County Fair on Sunday when the DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds chase checkered flags in a pair of 20-lap main events, each awarding a full purse and points toward the coveted CCFS season championship. Also in action on Terrell’s Potato Chips Night will be the UMP/DIRTcar Street Stocks, Mini Sprints plus the popular Soccer Moms Karmageddon and a FIREWORKS display.
The Pick-N-Pull 201 on Friday remains open to any four or six-cylinder hard-top passenger car (including weekly Cayuga County BattleKarz entries), mini vans and station wagons; trucks, convertibles and four-wheel drive vehicles are not allowed. Complete rules are available at DIRT NE headquarters (315/834-6606) and the entry fee is $50 per car which includes driver pit admission.
Grandstand General Admission tickets for Thursday, Friday and Saturday events are priced at $10.00 each, kids 10-14 years old $3.00 and children 9 & under are FREE; Pit Passes are $20.00 each. The grandstands will open at 5 p.m. throughout the week with track events scheduled to start at 7 p.m. sharp.
The DIRTcar Advance Auto Parts Modified Series is brought to fans across the Northeast by several sponsors and partners, including series sponsors Advance Auto Parts, Hoosier Racing Tire and Sunoco Race Fuels. Promotional partners include AMB i.t., F.X. Caprara Car Companies and the University of Northwestern Ohio and the contingency sponsors are Bert Transmission, Bicknell Racing Products, Bilstein Shocks, Brodix Cylinder Heads, Integra Shocks, MSD Ignitions, Miller Electric Manufacturing Company and Wrisco Industries.
