PRESENTED BY BUTTERS HOMES OF MANSFIELD.
July 7, 2007 program is the first engagement for ESS since 2000.
Ms. Motorsports, Chelsea Miller to be present at Woodhull for the night of action.
(Woodhull, NY) Woodhull Raceway owner, Vern Wasson likes to gamble. That is his nature and he has not changed his outlook on life one bit since taking over the reigns of the Woodhull Raceway in 2006. Consequently, it should have come as no surprise when he booked the highly successful Empire Super Sprints organization to a sanctioned event in 2007. The last time the Wonderful Winged Things competed on Woodhull’s high banked one-third of a mile clay oval was in the fall of 2000 and during the seven events that have been run at Woodhull there have been several top names visiting victory lane. Tim Kelly, George Suprick, Mal Lane, Tom Taber and Bill Coffey.
Chris Dow picked up her first ever checkered flag in a sprint car at Woodhull in 2000 so you can see that historically ESS has a great track record at the popular Steuben County oval.
“Dean Reynolds and Chuck Miller were very persistent in their approach to having a return engagement with ESS at Woodhull, stated Wasson. The Organization and its drivers wanted it, my fans wanted them back and as for me personally my family has been involved in Sprint Car Racing since I was a kid so for me this will be a real thrill.”
Wasson’s dad, Gary owned Sprint Cars in the Central Pa. region in the 60’s and 70’s piloted by such greats as Mitch Smith, Lee Osborne and Jan Opperman; consequently his roots are deeply rooted in Sprint Car Racing.
In addition to the ESS program it will be a regular show of Woodhull’s Regular 6 Classes of competition and as an added treat for the fans any spectator who shows up with their rain stub from the June 30 Fireworks show will receive $4 off the July 7 adult gate price.
Butters Homes of Mansfield, Pa. will sponsor the program and it is anticipated that Ms. Motorsports 2007, Chelsea Miller of Langhorne, Pa. will be on hand at Woodhull to greet the fans, sign autographs, sing the National Anthem and make the victory lane presentations. “All in all this has the makings of a huge night at Woodhull, stated Wasson. With all 6 of our regular classes on top of a full ESS Show the fans will surely get a heck of a bank for their buck”.
Gates for the July 7 program open at 4:30 with racing at 6:30 pm. The Woodhull Raceway is located 20 miles west of Corning and 20 miles east of Hornell off Rt. 417 and as always for more information you can go to the web at www.woodhullraceway.com.
