ADAMS, MA – If you thought the inaugural event was something, just
wait
until round #2 of the Bubba Tanner Pro Stock Classic at Lebanon Valley
Speedway.
This Saturday, June 23, DMC Racing Products is presenting the 2nd
annual
event in honor of the former Valley champion. Bubba Tanner was one of
the
great Pro Stock competitors at Lebanon Valley Speedway, with his
hard-driving style and colorful personality, which made him a favorite
whenever the 23B was in competition.
The Pro Stocks will be running for a winner's check of $500 in the
23-lap
extra distance event. Last years event saw eventual class champion Rob
Yetman start 15th and out distance Jason Casey, Jay Corbin and the rest
of
the field to take the checkers.
“This is a very special race for me to win,” Yetman said in victory
lane
last year. “Bubba’s accomplishments here are amazing and it is
truly an
honor to win his race.”
However, Yetman will not be in the pits this year hoping to defend his
title, leaving the door wide open for a new champion of the event, and
more
close quarters, bumping and grinding action that was reflective of
Bubba’s
style.
“I didn’t know what to expect from last year’s event, “Bobby
Chalmers, owner
of DMC Racing Products said. “However, it was better then I could
have
imagined. The fans liked it, the drivers loved it, and the local media
coverage of the event was phenomenal. I still get people coming into
my
shop talking about seeing the race on Fox23 Fast Track and saying thank
you.
Everyone liked Bubba.”
The Pro Stock class is one of the most competitive events each Saturday
at
the Valley. Need proof, check out the results. Through eight feature
events in 2007, Only Jay Corbin has graced victory lane more then once
(2
wins). Veterans Jimmy Langenback, Paul LaRochelle, Don Carlson and
Robbie
Speed along with young guns Corbin, Jon Routhier, and Jason Casey have
tasted victory on the High Banks in ’07.
Could one of them bring home the win, or will a new 2007 winner cross
the
line first. We’ll have 23 laps to find out.
