Tulsa, OK – June 24, 2007 – Rich Vleck, ASCS Patriot Sprint PR
Like the overall ASCS Patriot Standings, the early portion of the A-Verdi King of CNY Standings has been dominated by Chuck Hebing. The question is now, will Hebing’s success continue through the summer months?
After Hebing’s sweep of the season opening weekend back in early May at Fulton Speedway and Rolling Wheels Raceway Park , the 2006 Champion will return to two of his favorite race tracks in the upcoming weeks to try and retain his superiority in Central New York .
After a trip to Ransomville Speedway on Friday, June 29, the ASCS Patriots will make a return to Canandaigua Speedway the following night for the first of two events in 2007 at one of the Patriots’ staple race tracks. Three days later, July 3, Rolling Wheels will be the first track to host its second ASCS Patriot event of ‘07 for the only full point mid-week show this year.
These will be the third and fourth events of the unique seven-race series sponsored by A-Verdi Storage Containers. With Riverside Bar and Grill in Gananaquoe , Ontario recently adding $1,000 to the point-fund, the top-10 in the standings for this series within a series will now be slicing up a $3,000 pot.
This series has already been wildly popular, with a number of competitors that do not run all ASCS Patriot events focusing in on this series. With nearly a dozen teams that were not ready to run back in May now on the tour, look for the racing to intensify along with car counts.
Immediately behind Hebing in the standings are Bryan Howland and Jason Barney, who are both just 10 markers behind the “Cobra.” With Howland competing in asphalt competition in North Carolina , it means that Barney is the leading contender to chase down the No. 45 winged machine.
Barney is among the names of those that have put an emphasis on this mini series. Others attempting to rejoin the ASCS Patriot schedule will be Jessica Zemken, Justin Barger, Blake and Bobby Breen, and George Suprick. Add to this list all of the Patriot regulars and you can see why these events are specially marked on the schedules of both race teams and fans alike.
All A-Verdi King of CNY races are $1,500-to-win, with support from Mike Emhof Motorsports in addition to Shuttleworth Asphalt Sealing and Red Bear Hand Cleaner. “Even though Cobra has won both races so far this year, it’s still anybody’s game,” said ASCS Patriot Regional Director Mike Emhof. “You’ve got 12 guys within 50 points and another 10 less than a race’s worth of points out.”
More on these events will be available in the days leading up to the races at the ASCS Patriot’s two largest race tracks, www.canandaiguaspeedway.com and www.rollingwheelsraceway.com. For more information, also visit www.ASCSracing.com or www.ASCSpatriotsprints.com.
