FULTON, NY – The fledging 5-Star DIRTcar Modified Mini-Series will visit Fulton Speedway for the first time ever with a special $2,000 to win feature this Saturday June 30 on Fernandez Auto Mall / Dig Safely New York Night. After the races, a gigantic fireworks display will be held to help celebrate our nation’s birthday coming up on July 4. Also in exciting race action will be the UMP Pro Stocks, UMP Street Stocks, ESDCA Mod Lites, Gypsum Express Crate Sportsman, and a 4-Cylinder Enduro. Race time at the high banked Route 57 track is set for 7pm.

The F.X. Caprara Car Companies-Dig Safely New York 5-Star DIRTcar Modified Mini-Series was developed during the off season to promote Modified racing in Central New York between Fulton, Can-Am, Canandaigua, Weedsport, and Rolling Wheels. This Saturday June 30 will see only Fulton Speedway running the DIRTcar Modifieds, as both Can-Am and Canandaigua have given the headline class the night off to race at Fulton. 5-Star Series points will be on the line in the regular Fulton Speedway points paying show.

A stellar field of DIRTcar Modifieds is expected to battle in the huge 35-lap affair paying $2,000 to the winner. Fulton’s home track regulars including Jimmy Phelps, Dale Planck, Alan Johnson, Kevin Bates, Brian Weaver, Chad Phelps, Vinnie Vitale, Kenny Stafford, Tom Sears, and Jim Witko Jr. will all attempt to secure their turf over the invading drivers. Expected to appear in race action from the other 5-Star tracks are 5-Star Series point leader Pat Ward, Billy Decker, Ryan Phelps, Pat O’Brien, Gary Tomkins, Charlie Donk, Steve Paine, Vic Coffey, Justin Haers, Chuck Bower, and many more for the all-star, 5-Star Modified show.

Recent controversy in the UMP Pro Stock division has peaked interest and excitement in this Saturday’s 20-lap Pro Stock main. Point leader Jason Parkhurst will look to hold off close rival Billy Clark Jr. as well as Jack Terrell, Dale Guernsey, and Dick Parkhurst in the main. Standings leader Ron Hawker looks to have the upper hand in the UMP Street Stock ranks with two wins, the most of any driver besides Dave Mannise who also has two. Gary Barton, Dan Hofmann Sr., and Dave Bruno have also visited victory lane. Second, fourth, and fifth place points drivers Jim Wallace, Steve Woodworth, and Nick Rizzo are all looking for their first career wins.

The ESDCA Mod Lites will visit Fulton Speedway for their fourth event of the 2007 season this Saturday. Dan Williams remains undefeated with three wins and leads the standings over Lowell Zehr, Jeff Barker, Tim Devendorf, and Rocco Leone. Timmy Sears Jr. continues to hold his lead in the Gypsum Express Crate Sportsman class, with Sean McCarthy, Brad Godshalk, Katelyn Kane, and Laslow Howiefeld right behind. In the 4-Cylinder Enduro division, Mark Johnston continues to be the top dog as he leads Jon Shumway, Jerry Herbert, Les Baker, and Marjorie Wallace.

After the races are complete, a gigantic fireworks display will light the skies over the Fulton Speedway grounds along the Oswego River. A tremendous show of fireworks is planned to help celebrate the 4th of July.

Admission prices this Saturday June 30 on Fernandez Auto Mall / Dig Safely New York Night at the Home of the Victoria 200 are $15 for Adults, $8 for Ages 10-14, and children 9 and under are free of charge with a paid adult. Fulton Speedway is conveniently located on Route 57, just 2 miles south of Fulton.
